The fog was thicker than I remembered it. Surrounding me as my sight became clearer from its hazy state. My mind was running a mile as I tried to come to terms with what happened moments ago. The realisation that I had fallen out the window and managed to get away with only a few scratches had me looking up at said place.

A groan left my mouth and I thought about my next movements. The kitchens would be the best pace to start but if not I was not sure how I am to get back inside before it's to late. Getting closer I could see the small window that leads you to the front of the kitchen and with a quick glance I know I was not getting in from here. The cooks had already began working away for the next meal for a school full of witches.

Walking around the building was the only thing I thought of until the opportunity arise. The grass below me tickled my bare feet when I ran across it, hiding so no onlookers noticed me. With the fog came a coldness that sent a chill up my spine.

An open window was spotted but my mouth went dryer than it already was when I figured out who's room it belonged to. But what else was I supposed to do. I wish this was all a bad dream and I will be waking up any minute. There was a broom that had been abandoned that I summoned and mounted that will take me up to the only entrance to Cackles at the time. Before entering I had to be sure the coast was clear before climbing into the room.

Miss Hardbrooms chambers.

My heart pounded thinking about it but letting my surroundings sink in the feeling of familiarity sunk in. I almost reached the door when I heard noises from the other side. I looked around and quickly hid in the cupboard. It was the only place I was able to fit in. Struggling to keep my breathing under control I placed my hand over my mouth to muffled the sound. Someone entered the room and my heart was pounding out of my chest.

"You know Hecate there's something charming about being stuck in a school with girls running about." A voice came. Her voice. Oh no it's just confirmed that I'd accidentally fell back in time. Tears silently began to fall.

"Darling I don't know what you're trying to do but the last thing I want is hearing a bunch of girls complaining about not allowed out side." Hardbroom said.

"Lighten up will you, it means you can give me extra detention all by myself after class."

"Ha you'll like that won't you."

"I guess you're going to have to wait until tonight." There was a small laugh and the sound of the door opening and closing. I hoped that Miss Hardbroom had left. What I wasn't expecting was the door to swing open. My eyes widened.

"What is the meaning of this?" I didn't look up straight away. Scared of what might happen if I do. After counting to three I slowly looked up at the potions teacher. Words would not come straight away as anything I said had to be the truth.

"Miss Hardbroom it seems I've gotten into a bit of a situation." Getting out of the cupboard I wasn't sure were to go and just stood there awkwardly.

"'Your window was the only place that allowed me back inside."

"My window." She looked over to said place "I see" she said remembering about the broken lock on her bedroom window. She had been meaning to get it fix but was always occupied with the younger version of the red head in front of her "the mists brought you here." I nod.

"Surely I've taught you what to do if you ever find yourself outside."

"Of course however it's been blocked off. I had to find another way in so that I can open the window and get back." I told her.

"Very well then Freya." My eyes locked on her at the me the mention of my name. "Let's see if we can find that window and send you off then."

I followed her out of the room and down the empty corridor. I knew I had to get back but apart of me wanted to stay and figure a few things out. But how much time is to long.

"Miss Hardbroom." I called out. The woman stopped in her tracks and stood as still as a statue.

"What did you just call me." The question was weird.

"Miss Hardbroom of course." The older woman's hands began to shake.

"I know I shouldn't be doing this but there a few things I need to find out before I leave to my own time." I said.

"And what would that be?" I sighed.

"First I need to tell you a story. It's long but I'll try to shorten it for the minutes we should allow." I said. The teacher agreed and we we were someone that no one could find us. The last thing I wanted was someone recognising me.

The next ten minute was spent explaining the last year of my life. I hated myself for not keeping it together. I broke down and couldn't stop the cries that left me.

"I'm so scared to leave. He's like a wild animal."

"Freya have you ever thought that your medicine might actually be a love potion." My sobs stopped straight away.

"A love potion?" I asked.

"Yes some of the symptoms you talk about are similar to something I had read years ago. I thought it was some silly article that I had the misfortune to read but now I am not quite sure." She said.

"The only thing that's silly is how I haven't thought of it before." I told her.

"Miss Hardbroom there is another thing I wanted to ask."

"And what would that be?" She asked.

"What is the relationship between us?"

"Our relationship?"

"Yes I have these strange dreams that I can never figure out." I said. The older witch smiled. Lifted her hand and brushed some of the loose hairs out of my face. Slowly she inched closer to me before gently leaving a soft kiss on my lips.

Tingles erupted through me and the feeling of her lips against mine. What scared me the most was how right I felt and finding myself kissing her back.

"I believe that it's something you're going to have to find out on your own" She said once pulling away. I was still flustered after what just happened that I ended up stumbling over my words.

"Come now it looks like the mists are clearing so you need to get a move on." The dark haired said. I smiled.

"Of course."

When I found myself back in Miss Hardbrooms chambers with a broom in my hand I turned to her.

"You know what I have to do don't you?" I asked.

"Yes I wish you didn't but we have to make sure nothing changes." She said.

"I know but I promise to make you remember when the timing comes" I said then mounted the broom.
