Chapter 3:

Jessica's POV:

My church band and I were in the middle of band practice when someone caught my eye. It was a tall boy in sunglasses and blonde hair. But his hair looked a little off. In fact it looked like a wig. I stopped playing and the band stopped too. The boy didn't move from in the doorway and he didn't speak so I spoke first.

"Can I help you?" I asked speaking into the microphone infront of me.

He fumbled with his sunglasses when he took them off. Then he finally answered my question.

"I uh... I was wondering if any of you had a fuel container." He said and his voice sounded strange and funny. Kind of like those actors in the James Bond movies. He obviously wasn't from around here. His look and accent took me back a bit and made me hesitant to talk to him.

"Y-yeah I have one in my truck." I spoke back after having my own personal internal conflict. He looked harmless though. I told the band I'd be right back then whispered to the drummer, Daniel, that if I wasn't back in 5 minutes to come outside after me. I stepped off the stage and took my time walking to the stranger. When I walked up to him he smiled and showed off a pair of perfect dimples and he stretched out his hand.

"Hi, I'm Harry." He said. I couldn't help but get caught in his sparkling green eyes. I broke eye contact after he slightly cleared his throat.

"I- I'm Jessica." I stuttered back and placed my hand in his and shook his hand. He let go of my hand and I showed him to my truck.

"Why are you wearing a wig?" I asked knowing it was a wig because I could see his brown hair under it.

"Ha..uhm.. It's a disguise. I guess not a good one though." He said then I heard his footsteps stop. I stopped walking and turned to look at him.

He took off the wig and set free the beautiful brown curly hair he had attempted to hide underneath it. He looked oddly familiar but I couldn't quite put my finger on how he looked familiar. He looked at me as if he was waiting for something to happen.

"Well come on Harry." I said waving him towards me. I shook off the feeling of knowing who he was and continued to lead him to my truck. When we got outside we were met by two other guys. The really big guys eyes grew wide when he looked at Harry.

"Can I help you?" I asked now more nervous than I was in the church.

"Oh they're with me Jessica. Our vehicle is just over that hill back there. They came with me." Harry said. I smiled at the two and walked towards my truck. I got my gas can and then it hit me who he was. All the little pieces connected. I whipped around and stared at Harry.

"Y-you're famous! You're in that band!" I said sounding dumb. I couldn't put my finger on the bands name but I've seen him in magazines at the grocery store before. I've never listened to their music though. I only listened to Christian music and of course only played Christian music. He looked at me and smiled again showing off his dimples.

"I was wondering when you'd realize it. I'm Harry Styles. I'm in the One Direction band." He said and then pointed to the man on his right and said; "This is Paul, our body guard. And this," he paused and pointed to the boy on his left, "This is our drummer Josh." He said. And Paul simply waved at me and said hello. But John made a bold move and stepped forward and grabbed my hand.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, beautiful." Josh said then brought my hand to his mouth and lightly kissed my knuckles. I giggled before I heard Harry clear his throat.

"Alright Josh." Harry said looking a bit jealous. Josh pulled away reluctantly.

After being star struck for a moment I handed Harry the empty gas can.

"Where's the nearest gas station?" Paul asked.

"Just up the road. About 10 miles from here though." I said then I saw Daniel come outside. I waved him off before he could come any farther. He smiled and walked back inside.

"But I can take one of you up there in my truck." I offered. Harry quickly walked up to me.

"Lets go." He paused and smiled at me.

"I'll meet you two back at the bus." He finished then I got in my truck and Harry soon was in on the passenger side.

I pulled out of the church parking lot and headed to the gas station.

"How come it took you so long to realize who I am?"

"I-I don't listen to your music." I admitted. He was quiet but only for a second before asking another question.

"What kind of music do you listen to?"

"Christian music."

"Why only Christian music? Not there's anything bad with that but why?"

"My fathers a pastor. I've grown up in church. And Christian music isn't just music, it's got purpose and meaning. Also I only sing Christian music." I looked at his intrigued expression when I finished explaining to him my reasons behind only listening to Christian music.

"So are you saying the music I sing isn't meaningful or have a purpose?"

"No no. That's not what I meant. I-I.."

"I'm kidding." He interrupted and laughed. I smiled and I could feel my cheeks turning pink.

We pulled into the gas station. He got out and went in to pay but only after putting the wig back on and this time hiding all of his brown curls. I waited in the truck for him. Once he was done putting the gas in the gas can he put it in the bed of my truck and got in.

"I have a proposition for you." He said when we got to his bus.

"And what's that?"

"Come to our show tomorrow night in Houston. It's just two hours from here. Ill have someone pick you up. You can bring who ever. It's our last show for this tour and it would be great to have a beautiful girl like you there to sing too." He said and his cheeks got slightly flushed. Did he like me? There's no way. I'm just a small town preachers kid.

I thought about it for a moment then answered him.

"Sure, Harry. I'd love to come." His face lit up like a Christmas tree and he grinned from ear to ear.

"I promise, love, you won't regret it. Ill take you out afterwards too." He said then he leaned over and placed a little wet kiss on my cheek. He started to chuckle when he pulled back and saw my flushed cheeks. He got out and grabbed the gas can then walked over to my window. I rolled it down and he told me to hold on while they put the gas in he bus. Then he walked back towards my truck and placed the now empty can in the back and came back to my window.

"Thank you Jessica. Ill be looking for you in the crowd tomorrow night." He said with a grin then without giving me a chance to say anything back he walked away. I watched as he climbed back into the bus but before he disappeared inside he blew me a kiss.
