Chapter 8

HARRY'S POV:

I patiently waited at the bottom of the stairs for Jessica to get ready and come down. I wasn't exactly sure where I was going to take her but I knew I had a lot to make up for. I beat myself up for a week for treating Jess like I did. I knew she was different but I guess I just had a point to prove to others and I was only thinking about myself. I promised myself I would never be so selfish ever again.

The sound of a closing door grabbed my attention and pulled me out of my train of thought. I looked up and watched as Jess shyly walked down the stairs. She was beautiful even in a tight pink sweater, light skinny blue jeans, chocolate brown TOMS, and a brown scarf.

"Ready?" She said with a big smile that made me smile.

"Yes, m'lady."

I held out my hand and she placed her hand in mine. I lead her to my Range Rover, opened her door, and helped her in. I jogged around to my side and quickly jumped in.

"Where to, m'lady?"

"How about the Melting Pot?"

"Sounds perfect. Will you set my gps to the location while I call the place?" I asked and didn't even wait for answer before I took out my phone and called the place. I didn't want to be bothered by fans so I wanted rent out a back room or maybe even the whole restaurant for the night.

"Welcome to the Melting Pot Mr. Styles. We have you a private room back this way. Follow me.." The preppy hostess girl couldn't take her eyes off of me. I ignored her though and put my arm around Jess as we walked to our private table. I could've sworn i heard a sigh of relief when I wrapped my arm around here.

I had two security guards to stand by incase a bold pap tried to sneak back here. But they seemed to intimidate our waiter. Which that still didnt stop him from staring at Jess's chest.

"Good evening. What can I get you to drink beautiful?" He said looking straight at Jess. I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

"I'd like a water with two lemons, please." She said with a little smile then looked back down at her menu.

"I'll have the same." I said but the waiter never took his eyes off of Jess as I said what I wanted.

He went to walk away.

"I'll be right back sweetie." I said to Jess as I got up and walked after him. My security was already one step ahead of me. They had him boxed in and they were interrogating him.

"Hey pal" I said with my hands balled up into a fist. He turned around and I guess he saw the anger in my eyes because he held up his hands and kept saying "chill dude chill'

"I'm not your dude you piece of shit. Now continue to stare at my girl like you've been and next time you won't even be able to get one word out before I beat the hell out of you. Got it?!" I said through my clenched teeth. I didn't appreciate him looking at Jess like he was and I think I made that pretty clear as he walked away whimpering in fear.

JESSICA'S POV:

His girl? My stomach filled with butterflies when I heard the words 'my girl' come out of his mouth. But everything else he said I felt was uncalled for.

"Sorry bout that, love." Harry said as he walked back in and took a seat.

"Why did you say those things to that waiter?"

"You didn't see the way he looked at you. I don't even want to imagine what he was thinking about." He said and opened his menu as to signal he was done with this topic.

"Ha." I sarcastically laughed.

"What?"

"It's just that a week ago that was you undressing me with your eyes or well you actually did try to undress me." I said in a calm tone.

"People change. And he better change before he walks back here." Harry stated and ended the conversation.

We sat there silently as we waited on our server but instead of the first guy, a girl came back with our drinks and too our order. Harry smiled in victory once he knew his threat had gotten to the poor guy. But this bimbo waitress couldn't keep her eyes off of Harry! I was beginning to feel what he felt earlier. He didn't notice though. He was to busy adding up the prices of everything in his head. When she left with our order, I broke then silence between us.

"Why did you want to take me out? Honestly."

He looked at me for a minute before he spoke.

"I like you Jess. I know I made a mistake by doing what I did. But I'm not used to having feelings for a girl like you."

"You mean a girl that won't put out for you?"

He shook his head 'no' and smiled.

"No. I mean a girl with morals, class, and respect for them selves. Yeah, the girls I meet are instantly throwing themselves at me because I'm famous, and damn good lookin but they don't see me as anything but that. You're the first girl that ever has seen me as more than a guy to brag about having sex with. And I didn't exactly know how to handle that and that's why I acted the way I did. It's not an excuse but it's the truth. I like you a lot Jessica."

He flashed another smile at me as he said that last sentence and showed off his dimples. I smiled back and I knew my cheeks had to red after everything he said.

"Well I am a forgiving girl so lets act like that day never happened." I chirped.

"I'd love that." He said and smiled.

The rest of the night we spent eating and getting to know each other better. Harry drove me back home. He put his number in my phone and I put mine in his. He walked me to my front door like a gentleman and instead of kissing me he kissed the back of my hand and told me goodnight.
