Chapter 34

1 month later

Harry's POV

Life at home hasn't been easy since we found Jess. She's more distant most days. She won't let anyone touch her, not even me. She barely eats and she cries herself to sleep every night after she thinks I've fallen asleep.

I've tried everything I could possibly think of.

I've taken her to therapist countless times. I've even tried to see if there was anything surgical you could do to help but everyone says the same thing.

"Her body and brain deal with a trauma in their own way. It just takes time."

I don't want to wait for that. I want my wife back now.

I haven't kissed her, hugged her, or made love to her in over a month. She flinches at my touch.

But I'm hoping the trial helps her work through some things.

Josh ended up living. After he healed properly they arrested him for kidnaping, rape, and assault. Of course they kept him in America because he did all that on American soil.

I just wanted him locked up.

Jessica agreed to testifying but I'm not so sure how that's going to go. I guess we'll find out since today's the trail.

"Jessica? Are you ready?" I asked as I buttoned up my navy blue dress shirt.

"J-just a minute." She replied from the bathroom.

I walked to the bathroom and tried to open it. I should've known it was going to be locked.

"Jessica, open the door please, love?"

No sound.

This was being to frustrate me.

"Jess! Open the door now!" I yelled without thinking.

I heard her start to cry and I sobbed.

"Harry just go! I'll meet you at the courthouse." She said with anger in her voice.

"Whatever. I'll tell Paul to bring you."

I grabbed my blazer and keys and went out of the hotel door.

We were back in Texas just for today's court date.

I took out my phone as I got in my car and called Paul.

"Hello?" Paul said.

"Paul, will you go make sure Jessica gets to the court room please. I'm already headed there."

"You got it."

"Thanks."

I placed my phone on the inside pocket of my blazer and drove off.

Once I got to the court room, I went to seek out our lawyer.

Her names Felicia. She's a tall, brown hair, and green eyed beauty.

I found her setting things up in the court room.

"Felicia?"

"Oh, hey Harry. Where's Jessica?"

"She'll be here shortly. Can I help you with anything?"

"Actually I need your help bring in some more chairs from the closet down the hall. The bailiff had to attend to other issues so I told him I'd go get chairs."
