The group had made their way inside the walls of the giant fence, thanks to the big tree. The toughest part was keeping their balance whilst holding their bags full of equipment, but they managed. The only way through was to walk along the broken trunk of the tree, after all. Denki almost slipped causing all of them to almost panic, but he managed to regain his balance before anything bad could happen. As soon as they got in, they started to look around. There were two main buildings, one for the inmates, being the biggest out of the two, and one that acted as a security outpost. The electricity switches, the surveillance cameras, and a resting spot for the guards were all located there. Most likely, the builder thought it was best to keep all the important functions in a separate building in case of a breakout or riot.
"I think it would be best to set up base in the security building," Izuku said as he pointed the camera towards said building.
"If we can get in," Katsuki told him and the greenette nodded.
They headed towards the building and tried the door. To their surprise, it opened up.
"That's a first," Denki commented. They all nodded and walked in.
The building was surprisingly big with plenty of rooms to house their base. They chose the one with the security monitors. Unfortunately, due to being abandoned, the cameras didn't work, but that didn't matter since they brought their own. Because of the bigger budget they had due to the success of their Blair Miriel's Mansion video, they were able to get more equipment, including extra cameras on tripods that could be placed anywhere. By bringing up the video feed on a laptop Shouto had wirelessly hooked up to the cameras, they could monitor a lot of different places and didn't need to be there. This made capturing ghost footage easier, too bad they hadn't gotten a good encounter since the mansion, though. They also got a better spirit box, considering the old one burst into flames, this one was smaller and could be carried around. After everything was set up, it was time to wait for nightfall. They had gotten there earlier than expected, so they had some time to kill.
"Actually," Izuku began while pointing the camera to his friends. "I've seen videos about ghosts captured in broad daylight. It might not be a bad idea to walk around for a bit. After all, we need to set up the cameras in different rooms."
"Makes sense," Katsuki agreed. "I'll take Sh*tt* Hair and Dunce Face. IcyHot, go with Deku."
"Wait, there's something I need to tell you guys," Shouto said before anyone could move. "Izuku, please turn off the camera."
The greenette nodded and complied.
The candy-cane haired boy let out a sigh before looking at his friends again. "I wanted to tell you... My father discovered our channel."
Everyone looked at each other wondering what was wrong. Was his father worried about him because of the mansion video?
"He doesn't approve of me sneaking into abandoned buildings and looking for ghosts. I should have told you this before, but my father is a cop. A chief to be exact, and he says we're breaking the law by trespassing. Not to mention how dangerous these old buildings can be since no one has kept up maintenance. He also out right doesn't believe in ghosts and thinks we're doing all of this for nothing."
"Is that why you stormed out?" Izuku asked, earning a nod from his friend.
"As it stands, this might be my last hunt."
"WHAT?!" The group questioned quite loudly.
"He believes the mansion video was faked, and unless I can show him that what we're doing has actual merit, he won't let me go anymore. Not to mention, he found out I'm the one who's been stealing his credit card."
