Toya turned the camera around as he and Shigaraki walked to the gas chamber.
"Oi," He said to the future audience, "As you already know, we just met up with a group called 'RealGhostHunters'. One of their cams fell over, so we're going to pick it up for them."
He then turned the camera towards Shigaraki who gave a small glance, but then looked away.
"Anyway, according to them, this cam fell down multiple times while setting up, so we're going to see what exactly is going on."
And with that, he turned the camera back around to film the hallway, not daring to turn it off in case something happens.
"Look there," Shigaraki said, pointing towards a camera aimed down the hallway. He waved to it. "I've gotta admit, these amateurs have everything covered."
"You say they're amateurs, yet we're the ones who don't have all the fancy equipment," Toya retorted.
"Isn't that because dear ol' daddy cut you off after he found out what you've been doing?"
"Shut up, *ssh*l*."
Toya, who's known as "Dabi" online, got into a lot of trouble when caught by his father posting "Exploring abandoned places" videos. Mostly due to the fact that he was trespassing to go to these places, much like what he still is doing now. His father, being a cop, punished him by cutting off his allowance when he was 15. Even so, he still kept going on these abandoned trips, that is, until one day he came upon a ghostly encounter. His view of the world was completely shattered and he changed his brand from abandoned places to haunted places. Along the way, he met Shigaraki, who also was looking into the paranormal. Together, they started "The League of Paranormal Investigators". By the time they were adults, they decided to room together, dedicating themselves to their Youtube channel. Meanwhile, Toya kept up his other channel "Dabi" only for vlogs or personal announcements. Double the channels, double the revenue.
Tomura got obsessed with the paranormal because of his adoptive father. Due to reasons he won't go into, his family all perished one day, and a man with the last name of "Shigaraki" adopted him. The man was a paranormal investigator back in the day and was a fierce rival to another man that he barely talked about. Back in those days, ghost hunters didn't team up to boost each other's channels, mostly because Youtube wasn't really a thing. Instead, it mostly became a competition as to who would explore what first. When people started uploading their videos, things changed, now teaming up would help people subscribed to one channel subscribe to the other for more content boosting both channels. Shigaraki didn't really care all too much. In all honesty, he just wanted to see a real life ghost just like the ones his adopted father told him about.
Jin and Himiko joined later. Himiko only wanted to fulfill her own agenda by meeting the "RealGhostHunters", or rather, meeting Izuku. The two were reluctant to let a child join them, but she insisted and they eventually thought "Well, why not?" Jin, on the other hand, was just interested in finding ghosts. Nothing more, nothing less. At least, according to him.
The two got to the room with the gas chamber and saw the camera on the floor. Shigaraki just walked over and picked it up to examine it.
"Tripod's level, floor's level, no sign of a draft. Obviously, it should've stayed up," He said as he set it down and turned it to what he believed was a good angle. Unfortunately, without communication from the other team, there was no way to confirm, so he did the best he could. After all, with how many times it fell over, he suspected that they might settle for anything so long as it's "good enough", he knew he would.
