Arrival

I step off the train and join the cue of hundreds of children scurrying around to find friends and luggage lost the crowd.

I start to feel the little jump inside my stomach that is anxiety.

Emotions are for the weak. Whispers the voice. I push it back down, atleast try to. When things dont go the way I want, I pretend. I pretend until my fiction is reality. I pretend my way to perfection.

I push on, soaking in the double takes as I walk by.

"Hey, how was your summer." Says Jasper catching up to me his voice unnaturally deep.

"Already answered that." I say shortly. He slows down and continues to walk behind me. I love this game. It's not even that I'm playing "Hard to get" it's just that Jasper guarenties me no future, no money, no nothing. I mean, what does he thinks he is doing? I am so out of his league. He thinks I'm just going to give up the life my grandmother has worked so hard to give me? And for what cause? Love?

He just wants you for you money. He doesn't even like you. Says the voice quite harshly.

I start to speed up, I have to show my authori- There is a time to be first, and a time to make a grand entrance. Echoes my grandmothers voice. I slow down again amd glance through my shades to make sure nobody noticed. Would they care that I sped up and slowed down? No. But that was second guessing a decision. Alaska's dont second guess. Says my grandmothers voice. I know, I know. I say answering her. Like I said, I feel mad sometimes. Who in their right mind talks to themselves?

Rose and Clemmie catch up with me.

"What type of low-life are we going to kick out this time." Says Rose in her authoritative voice.

Right then I hear a growl come from my bag.

"Oh my gosh! Stop. Jasper stop" He stops in mid step and almost stumbles.

"What did I do?" He says. I can hear the panic in his voice.

"Nothing, nothing. Just I need my bag" I say reaching for it.

"What?" He says looking down at it confused.

"Dont question me, just hand it over" I say exasperated. I unzip it and out hops a magnificent young dragon. About the size of a cat. With bug ambitious eyes and a furry white main. (I hate to copy fandoms but look up Zym from the Dragon Prince. The dragon design just fit so well XD)

"Lumi! I'm so so so so so so Soooo sorry!" I say holding out my arms as she leaps into them. She is the only thing in the world I could say I love. Why did I lock my most precious item in a hot suitcase for an hour? Well, the sad truth is, I need to be recognized for me, not my sprite. After all, she is rare and it would drag attention away from me. Usually people get raccoons, ducks, cats, mice etc. Mystical sprites are uncommon, but it makes sense. I am rare, I am fierce, I am beautiful, I drag attention. Even the way my sprite acts reflects so perfectly upon me. She is well behaved, proper, and knows how to bring the right kind of attention.

The cue of excited students slow down as we filter through the colloseum entrance. Even though we are at ground level, when we enter through the archway, we are at the top of an enormous pit. Hundreds of thousands of seats fill a perfectly mathematical masterpiece.

Me and my friends- Allies. Hisses the voice. Allies. I correct myself again. -start heading down to the front. We kick some nervous looking first years out as the squad sits down comfortably.

Through all the noise I can still hear the difference between chatter, and gossip. Especially when its headed in my direction.

The group can hear it too. They look to smug for my comfort. Oh they must think the gossip is for them. Idiots. Says my grandmothers voice.
