"Your phone's ringing Jah," Lady told me as she got up, causing me to get up and answer it.
Phone convo

E: my bad g I'm jus wakin up. I'm still at lady house.
K: have you checked your phone?
E: no I deadass jus woke up when you called. Why? What's going on?
K: it's a lot brodie. Don't check it until you get back to your house. Me gabby and the girls are otw there now.
E: okay lemme get goin
End of phone convoAs soon as I was about to tell Lady that I was leaving, she walked in, dropped two pills and a bottle of water onto the nightstand, gave me a kiss and left. Thank God because this hangover is kicking my ass. I yelled out thank you as I took the pills dry and hurried to get my shit and leave.
I ran to my car and sped all the way until I got home. I hurriedly parked and rushed up to my room where everyone was. As soon as I opened the door, all I saw was chaos. Alex and Kiyah were cussing someone out over the phone, Riah looked to be on another frustrating call, there was some little boy crying and screaming on my bed, Gabby seemed to be trying to calm him down (which wasn't working), and Kayla was going through a suitcase looking for something.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!" I asked because honestly this was too much.
Everyone looked at me then at each other. After a few moments Gabby motioned for us to step outside, and when we did she explained everything that had happened in the last few hours, and man I was pissed.
"So you mean to tell me that for one, I have a son and for two, Dee threatened to expose me for being a deadbeat if I don't care for him now?" I recapped for clarification. As she nodded her head I felt my heart break in two. If that was my child, why would she keep him from me?
"Well, where is Dee now?" I asked worriedly.
"Gone. She said she'll send you the paperwork so she can sign over her rights if you decide to keep him...You are gonna keep him right Jah?" Gabby asked expectantly.
"Of course. But first, I want a DNA test," I said not wanting her to hear the hurt in my voice.
"I know. Riah's already handling it. She's already got the appointment set up and right now she's on the phone with her lawyer friend to get his birth certificate and social security card and stuff like that," She informed me. Thank God for that woman.
"Did she tell y'all his name?"
"Yeah it's Zahir Egypt Livingston"
Not bad I thought. But if he is mine, he's got to have my last name.
Gabby and I went back into and the room and I told the girls to go shopping for the baby. I gave Alex my black card and told her to get whatever she thinks that Zahir needs. After they left, I picked up Zahir and rocked him to sleep. Now that I was looking directly at him, he does look like me, a lot like me. But I can't get attached until I know for sure that's he's mine, so I laid him in the middle of the bed and surrounded him with pillows so he won't fall. After I made sure he was sleep, I went through the suitcase while Gabby cleaned up and Kayla went to go get something for lunch.
I was honestly disgusted with the contents of the suitcase. It was a bunch of moth-eaten, mildewed, too-little clothing. The clothes said 3 months and Zahir definitely looked older than 3 months. No child deserves whatever this bullshit is. I took the entire suitcase downstairs and threw it in the fireplace. That shit shouldn't have even been in this house. I'm glad she's willing to give up her rights because shit like that will never fly with me concerning my child.
Gabby finished cleaning and went to a guest room to take a nap before the girls got here while I went to make sure Zahir was still sleep. It was just my luck that when I walked in he was up. I didn't have any bottles or anything yet so I turned Paw patrol on and rocked him back to sleep. Turns out he really is like me and within minutes he was knocked out. After I laid him down I got a call from Kayla telling me to open the door. I went to open the front door and helped her get the food and drinks from the car. She got canes and some coffee for everyone since it seems like we're gonna be up for a while. Kayla and I talked about the interviews and whatnot that we had coming up while we ate. Eventually Gabby came down with Zahir and gave him to me while she ate. While we all talked about school and work, I fed Zahir some of my fries. After about 30 minutes, the girls came back with a truck load full. I handed Zahir to the girls so that they could give him a bath and change him while me, gabby, and Kayla went to unload the truck and put his stuff in the room next to mine. God I really hope this boy is mine.********
