'How do you feel?'
Was what Naruto heard that late evening.. It wasn't everyday that Kurama was asking his host how he was. Sure, their bond over the time has gotten better but Kurama still wasn't the one to be so soft towards anyone, even if that means its his host. Naruto let a small hum out indicating that he was fine but Kurama knew better, he could hear and feel how overwhelmed Naruto was and it made the Bijuu confusion.
'I'm fine, why do you ask?' Kurama grunted as he slowly opened one of his eye 'You're lying, I can feel your stress.' Kurama pointed out and Naruto cursed the link between the two of them. Naruto ran his hands through his hair, he kept quiet for a few more moments before he let a small breath out 'Okay. Maybe I am not okay.' Naruto whispered and Kurama opened his other eye, he knew Naruto couldn't go talking about his thoughts to anyone because it would get him locked up. 'What is wrong?' Kurama asked and Naruto eyes glossed over as he stared at the ground, trying to figure out how to say his words.
'Im worried that with me being here, Baa-chan is forced to deal with people she never wanted to see again. I am literally her only ties to this village and I don't want to force her to continue staying here when she is unhappy. I also feel like, everything is going haywire due to the Akatsuki showing up. More people are getting involved then they need to, people are going to get hurt, and I feel like I'll be the cost of it. Not only that but me and Shikamaru are going out now and I don't know how Sasuke is going to handle that, I don't trust him. He'll try to hurt Shikamaru and I'll end up getting my chakra sealed off because I know how I can get and-'
'Slow down Naruto. Breath...'
Kurama interrupted as Naruto rambled on, the buuji could tell that these thoughts have been brewing in the young Uzumaki's mind for a while but he never had anyone he could go talk too. Kurama let a breath as he continued to lay in his usual position, 'Do not let your thoughts get the better of you. You have been taught to think rationally then impulsively, talk to the Nara brat and see how he feels about this. Don't go shouldering all of this because you think you have to, you have people who want to help you.' Kurama grunted out and Naruto soaked the words in. He let a couple of breaths out and nodded to himself, 'Thank you Kurama.' The bijuu grunted in response and Naruto stared at the sky. "Naruto? What are you doing out here?" A tired voice rung out and the young Uzumaki turned slightly to see his boyfriend sluggishly walking over towards him "Just watching the stars." Naruto answered softly as he turned his attention back to the sky.
He could feel Shikamaru stare at him once he was standing next to him before he was force to turn around. Shikamaru eyes scanned his face before he rolled his eyes and pulled Naruto somewhere "Shika! Where are we going?" Shikamaru didn't answer him, instead he continued to pull him until they were standing in the garden. "Sit." Naruto eyed his boyfriend before slowly sitting down with Shikamaru following in suite and pulling him closer.
Naruto yelp at the sudden pull but didn't move from his spot "Talk." The jinchuriki pouted but still told Shikamaru his worries. Shikamaru said nothing the whole time, opting to let Naruto vent his thoughts out before he said something. Once he knew Naruto was done, Shikamaru gazed at Naruto a little bit "You do understand I can hold my own against the Uchiha, there are ways to outsmart them and my clan specializes in that." Shikamaru started and Naruto nibbled on his bottom lip.
