Your POV:

A sigh escaped my parted lips as I had successfully slipped out of the gryffindor portrait unnoticed.

My pace quickened as I got closer to the opening arch to the bridge that took you across to the other end of Hogwarts.

I could feel the light rain as soon as i walked through the arch. It dappled my exposed skin like freckles, it gathered in my eyelashes and clung to my hair, forming little beads.

I'd somehow managed to make it out there without a single run-in with filch or his cat, until I spotted a tall figure in the mist.

My heart skipped a beat before realising they had student robes on, which allowed me to release my breath.

They were resting their elbows on the ledge and appeared to just be gazing out at nothing.

Though they soon must've noticed my presence, their head craning in my direction.

I, an awkward person who liked to put myself in awkward situations, decided to just keep walking over to them.

Saying nothing I just leaned against the edge like them, occasionally casting a glance their way.

Which I had figured they were actually a he. With platinum blonde locks that hung over his forehead.

I knew it was Malfoy. Someone I thought I had a rather dislike to.

But something in the moment told me to just stay quiet and stand with him in the mist.

Eventually, after a couple of silent minutes he cleared his throat and spoke.

'What- why are you here.' When I didn't respond he continued, 'And why aren't you saying anything.'

I decided to let out a chuckle before responding.

'No need to get snappy Malfoy.'

'I'm not.' He huffed, giving me a clearly irritated glare.

'Well you looked like you needed company.' I glanced back at him.

'I didn't.'

I didn't reply and instead looked up at the sky, which though it was basically impossible to properly see, it let off a serenity.

More droplets pelted my face, as I could see Malfoy in my peripheral vision fumbling with something.

I soon felt a thicker coat being pulled over my shoulders.

'What are you doing.' I mumbled, it coming out more ungrateful than intended.

'Giving you my jacket you nitwit.' He scoffed.
His tone and action being contradictions to say the least.

'Has anyone ever told you that you're a walking contradiction, Malfoy?' I laughed again, pulling at the jacket so I could wrap it around my body.

'Why do you say that.' He questioned blandly.

'Why?' I chortled, placing a palm against my forehead. 'You just gave me your jacket, what I would consider a sweet gesture, and then proceeded to call me a nitwit. Which unless you consider nitwit a term of endearment..' I trailed off as I looked at him, a smirk playing on his dimly-lit, and also rain speckled face.

'I was just showing common etiquette. You looked cold.' He laughed, his smirk turning to a smile.

'You still called me a nitwit.' I sarcastically pouted.

'Well because you were being one. What did you think I was doing? Using you as a coat hanger?'

Laughter quickly escaped from my lips.

'Oh shut up.' I said between chuckles.

'Whatever.' He smiled at me.

We stood for a little while, just embracing each others presence until he spoke again.

'Want me to walk you back to the gryffindor dorms?' He said simply as he took a step towards me.

He must've saw the confusion on my face as I thought, how would he even know what house I'm in, we never even talk, Because I'd barely began to open my mouth before he interrupted.

'It's on your blazer, nitwit.' He pointed at the blazer that was beneath his coat before grabbing my hand and tugging me along with him.

Something told me I'd be seeing him around a lot more, and that I'd be getting called a nitwit even more.
