K I know it's past Roman's birthday but I made this so here (I started it on his birthday or after I don't remember TvT

Virgil surprises Roman on his birthday by setting up a nice dinner picnic where they first met with all of Roman's favorite foods and it was a nice flower garden with a flower garden tunnel in the kingdom palace

Also, another 1am post I've been trying to write a lot lately but writers block is killing me T^T and I get distracted a lot and I keep trying to do a lot at once and I've been going to sleep really late lately so ima try to post as much as I can and get more one shots out and update my other books more as well and this has 2 names because I just thought of the second one now and I like it U-U

~3rd pov~

Virgil woke up earlier than the king today knowing what day it was, Virgil turned over while in the king's arms kissed The king's nose, then tried to escape the king's arms, Virgil wanted to set up a surprise for his husband because it was his birthday and Virgil always wants him to have the best birthday because Roman the king and his husband always has to work, even on his birthday, Virgil was planning to take the king to the place where they first met, it was in the palace garden, Virgil was exploring he worked as a servant for another kingdom and was the prince's from that kingdom servent the other kingdom was visiting because they had an elegance and they were celebrating the day that elegance was made and it was also Roman's birthday his 18th to be exact, he was walking through the garden and went under the tunnel of flowers and vines when he saw a boy looking at the flowers too

~Flash back~

Roman: Hello?

Virgil: *Turns his head quickly* uh-! Uh-!Hi!

Roman: *Walks closer to Virgil*

Virgil: Oh! Sorry, your majesty! *Quickly bows*

Roman: Oh no! You don't have to bow, I'm sorry I startled you

Virgil: Oh! No, I'm sorry! I probably shouldn't be here, I should go back with the other servants

Roman: Servents?

Virgil: Ye- Yeah-... I work for the Quirts kingdom

Roman: Oh? Well, can you stay?

Roman's mind: He's too cute to be a servant

Virgil: I should really go your majesty *About to walk away*

Roman: Wait! *Grabs Virgil's wrist* Pls...stay...

Virgil: I- I-.... I guess a little longer won't hurt....

Roman: *Smiles*

Virgil: *Blushes*

Roman: Well come on? Do you wanna take a walk?

Virgil: Sure-

Roman: Well come on then *Walks with Virgil's hand in his*

Virgil got up and quickly and quietly put a pillow where he was while trying not to wake up the king, Roman pulled the pillow close to sleepy to notice it wasn't Virgil, Virgil then left the room and went downstairs to the kitchen, one of the cooks saw Virgil "Oh! Morning Virgil" "Morning" *Virgil smiled at the girl he used to work with, Maridith then handed a plate to Virgil with bread and fruits and then a cup of coffee (Idk if they had coffee back then-) "Thanks Mari (Nickname) "It's no problem, also what do you plan to do for the king's birthday this year?" Virgil then said, "I'm gonna take him to the garden, later tonight for a picnic, also could you help me make his favorites for it?" "Sure! But I can do it myself, you have been royalty for a few years now, Virgil, you shouldn't have to cook '' ''But-" ''No buts Virgil. You're not cooking and you should go back to bed, wouldn't the king wanna wake up to his husband specially on his birthday? Hmm?" "What if I order you to let me help you cook?" "You know you wouldn't" "I know" "Now go back to bed, I'll get everything ready for tonight alright?" "Thanks, Mar" "Welcome...Your highness" Mari smirked knowing Virgil didn't like being called that "Your so mean T^T" Maridith laughed and went back to cooking, after Virgil ate his food he went back upstairs opened his room door and saw Roman sitting up, rubbing his eyes, and calling his name "Yes?" Virgil opened the door all the way, walked in, and closed it "Are you okay?! Where were you?!" Roman asked Virgil in a panic because he thought something happened "I'm alright and I was downstairs and eating cause I was hungry" Virgil lied a little he was hungry but that was not why he got up " Oh okay..." Virgil walked over to Roman and wrapped his arms around Roman's shoulders/neck and snuggled his head into Roman's shoulder, Roman pulled Virgil close and kissed his head "Sorry I made you scared..." "No it's alright, I just overreacted" Virgil crawled over into Roman's lap and lifted his head to look at Roman and said "Happy birthday" Roman smiled and kissed Virgil on the lips "Thanks Love" Virgil giggled a little, Roman layed back down and pulled Virgil down with him, Roman and Virgil cuddled tell Roman had to get up to do king stuff Virgil groaned "I know pumpkin, but I gotta" "I know...But why do you have to work on your birthday" "Well? Who would run the kingdom? Hm?" Virgil made a cute little annoyed face "Shut up" Roman bent down and kissed Virgil's forehead "Do you wanna do all of the things with me then?" "Mmmmmmm...Nope, I wanna do stuff with you but not kingdom stuff" Roman chuckled and kissed Virgil's head "I'll be back later okay" "okay"

After that Virgil went to sleep for a little while longer then got up to go set everything else up for the surprise, Virgil went to the kitchen and saw Maridith "Oh-Hi Virgil!" "Hi""Everything is ready, you just gotta set it up at the place, I could help you if-" "Thanks Mari but I can do it myself" "You sure-" "Yup" Virgil grabbed the basket out of Maridith's hand and ran off to the garden leaving Maridith a little shocked even tho she knew how Virgil was, Virgil reached the exact spot where the prince asked him to walk with him Virgil set everything up and made sure everything was perfect, he went back to the castle and went up to his and Roman's room, Virgil noticed a little Bit of dirt in front of the door which meant Roman came back or someone else was here, Virgil opened the door and saw the king on the balcony looking forward, Virgil quietly went behind Roman and wrapped his arms around his torso, Roman looked down at the hands and arms and grabbed Virgil's arms and pulled him in front of him to where Virgil was leaning on the balcony rales and Roman was leaning on Virgil lightly "Hi Love" "Hi princy" "I'm not a prince anymore" "To the kingdom you aren't, for me you're still the prince I once met" Roman smiled at that and kissed Virgil "Come on I gotta show you something" "Where?" "Just come with me" "Okay?" Virgil grabbed Roman's hand and walked back outside to the garden then to the tunnel, Roman looked around and looked at the flower tunnel filled with lights "Woah" Virgil giggled at Roman's word (Idk T^T) "Happy birthday Rowy" "Thanks love, also is this where I first met you?" "Mhm" "Thank you love" "Come on I'm not done yet" Virgil brought Roman farther down the tunnel to the place he set up the picnic "When did you have time to do this?" Roman looks at Virgil and asks "I set it up while you were working,also Maridith made the food, I wanted to help her but she wouldn't let me and that's also why I went down early" The prince (I know he's a king but he dresses the same way he did as a prince) looking figure furrowed his eyebrows "I thought you said you went down cause you were hungry" "I was hungry but that wasn't the reason I went down" Virgil was kinda scared that he lied to Roman but he knew Roman wouldn't do anything about it other then tell him not to do it again "Oh- Well you could have just said you had something to do- but thank you Virgie pie" Roman kissed Virgil on the forehead and then Virgil pulled his king down to the blanket he had set up, Virgil got all the food out which were all Roman's favorite foods, they spent their time feeding each other saying sappy stuff and being all lovey dovey "I love you Virgil" "I love you too Rowy" soon later they went back to the castle then to their room and cuddled the rest of the night saying I love you and sharing little pecks on the lips, forehead, and cheek together
