The Dragon

Virgil and Roman go out to explore and they are just chilling until something comes out and attacks them.

Virgil and Roman stood at different ends of the cliff. A giant dragon witch in between the both of them. Virgil near the edge of the cliff, frozen in fear, staring up at the purple dragon flying high above him. He could barely breathe. His feet shook along with his legs, his arm hyperventilating. He and Roman had just been out and about exploring Roman's mind palace. All of a sudden they walk past this giant cave Roman thought he created a bit back, turns out it was an entrance to a giant dungeon sorta of lair made by the dragon witch to hide it. And Roman had the best idea to go up to the cave entrance and start singing Disney songs at the top of his lungs. And well, let's just say this happened:

"I SEEK ADVENTURE IN THE GREAT WIDE SOME-WHERE" Roman screamed so loud, his fingers on his heart, arching over it. And Virgil watched snorting a bit, he would have joined in if it didn't take so much effort and sounding happy to sing such a song. That's when the ground started to shake, and birds and other animals of Thomas's and Roman's imagination started to take flight and run fast. "Uuuuum Princey, that is an awful sign- We need to leave- Now." "It's fiinnnee Virgy, it's probably just the echo of my amazing singing-'' Both of them knew that wasn't true in the slightest and Roman did plan on running with Virgil far away, but it was far too late for that. The ground kept shaking and then a giant purple thing shot out of the cave and up into the air it flew. It was blurry to the 2 for a bit but once it came into perspective they realized this wasn't going to go very nicely. Roman unleashed his sword and yelled up at the thing in a witch hat, "Dragon Witch!" He pointed his sword right at its giant body. The Dragon Witch roared and flew forward and down, knocking Roman off his feet onto his chest/stomach, his sword going flying across the grass. That's when Virgil started running, he was worried about Roman but the dragon witch coming after him right now wasn't gonna let him help Roman. The witch screamed at Virgil "COME HERE LITTLE VIRGIE" It shouted, and Virgil's anxiety kept rising. Virgil ran through leaves, being hit by branch after branch as he ran deeper into the forest. His jacket was torn and so were his jeans. A few cuts to his left cheek. His anxiety was high and he was terrified he'd get caught and swallowed up in one swoop. Which he wasn't wrong about the possibility it would happen, the Dragon Witch really did want to swallow him whole and leave Roman with no lover and leave Virgil in a pit of acid. Virgil looked at the ground, the Dragon witch's giant shadow right above him. It was clear running was doing nothing for Virgil, but he didn't know if stopping was a good idea. So he ran and he ran all until he reached the cliff which he did not intend on reaching, he tried to stop and his shoes scraped against the dirt and rock ground, all in an effort not to slide off the cliff. Virgil fell to the ground on the side of his hip and he stared up at the Dragon witch that towered over him.

And that is how we got back to the present:

"Virgil!" Roman shouted, his sword in hand and his face to the dragon witch. "Get away from him you monster!" Roman charged at the Dragon Witch, swinging at its tail. The tail swung back and knocked the sword from his hands. Bye bye it went and then he fell on his hands. "No!" He shouted and tried to run and get it back but the dragon witch slashed his tail at Roman and he went flying back. He hit the ground, scraping his arm, but that didn't stop him from getting back up. Virgil was no longer Frozen in fear, but he was IN fear, only now he was scooching himself closer to the cliff edge, he had grabbed a rock, no bigger than a jar cap and chucked it at the Dragon Witch, hoping it'd make it back away. While it did hit the dragon in its huge stomach, it did not make it back away, it was barely even a tap to the dragon, it was like it felt nothing. Virgil let out a shaky breath and looked away, prepared to die, but as he was looking away that didn't happen. He heard the Dragon Witch roar in pain and he looked up, seeing Roman had his sword and was being carried by these giant birds. They weren't as big as the Dragon witch but they were bigger than Roman. The birds flew Roman over the Dragon witch and dropped him down onto its scaly back. With that leverage, Roman stabbed his sword into the Dragon Witch's back. The Dragon Witch roared and swung around, trying to knock Roman off of its back. That didn't do much, Roman had a tight grip on his sword that was impaled in the Dragon Witch's back. The Dragon Witch's wiggling only made the sword go deeper, and with that the Dragon Witch started to fall. As the Dragon Witch swung and spun around, it launched into the ground, its giant body scraping across the dirt ground. The dirt flew into the air, making everything dusty, rocks were shot into the air too. Luckily the rocks never hit Virgil, but dirt did in fact get on him. Roman looked down at the Dragon Witch and pulled out his sword, purple blood dripped off from the tip of the sword. Roman took deep and heavy breaths and then looked around for Virgil. Virgil was right where he had been since he was being attacked, his chest moved up and down from the heavy breaths he himself needed. Roman ran right over and slid onto his knees next to Virgil and hugged him tightly, "My love! Are you okay?? Did you get hurt??" He scrambled to say and Virgil leaned on him and nodded, "That was awful. I'm not coming out here again." Virgil stated and Roman nodded, they both knew that was a belated lie, they'd both be back out again soon, even with anxiety high. Roman picked Virgil up bridal style and gave Virgil all the cheek kisses he could as they walked back to the house area of the mind palace. They cleaned themselves of the dirt and twigs in their hair and on their clothes and then went right to bed and cuddled with Virgil on Roman's chest and Roman holding him close.
