Chapter 55

Soul sighed and said,
"I am stopping that dragon from coming close to you as you can clearly see!"
I groaned and said,
"You know what I mean! Did you hate Malinda so much you didn't want her to even touch me?!"
"Of course not! If that was the case I would have done this to every person I saw!"
I thought for a second and said,
"I guess so but then why did you stop Malinda from coming near me? You could have told me instead of scaring Edna and Malinda!"
Soul glared at me and said,
"I did tell you but you thought I was lying! I had to do this to stop Malinda!"
"Well can you blame me for thinking you were lying when you hate everyone? You would totally lie if it would convince me not to be around anyone!"
"Okay you might be right but you really should listen to me sometimes!"
"I'll listen to you more if I knew you wouldn't lie to me! So are you going to tell me why you stopped Malinda from coming near me or not?"
"Fine I tell you since you can't figure this out yourself!"
I glared at Soul and Soul turned to Edna. He then asked her,
"I have a question for you, does Malinda know how to control how much magic she can take from someone?"
Edna looked at me nervously and I said,
"It's okay. You can answer him even though I don't trust him. I know he would never hurt anyone, especially if he's around me!"
Edna gluped and she said,
"Well no she can't really control her power very well. She can absorb magic but can't control how much she takes! She knew it would be fine because you have so much magic."
I thought for a second and said,
"Oh....I think I know why you stopped Malinda from absorbing my magic."
Soul then said,
"Well at least you finally figured it out!"
Edna then said,
"I don't see the problem with Malinda taking some of your magic away!"
Soul groaned and said,
"You really are stupid aren't you?!"
I then said,
"Hey Soul, that was mean!"
"Do you really expect me to be nice? I finally get to actually talk to people and I can tell how annoying they are! Why would I be nice?"
I sighed and said to Edna,
"Just ignore him. He hates everyone so he will say rude things."
Edna then said,
"I can tell!"
"Since I know Soul won't tell you why Malinda can't take some of my magic away I will tell you. You see if Malinda takes to much magic from me then she probably would die! She wouldn't be able to handle all the magic! It would be okay if she didn't take to much but if she took more than half I don't think she would survive!"
Soul then said,
"Well you mean Malinda would explode because she couldn't handle all the magic she took from us!"
"There is a reason why I didn't explain it like that! I didn't want to scare the baby dragon even more!"
"Well I really wanted to!"
I sighed and said,
"Of course you would love to do that!"
I thought for a second and said,
"Wait! I thought you hated Malinda, why did you save her?!"
"I do hate her. I just didn't want her to die because you wouldn't forgive yourself that Malinda died from trying to help you! Also in the future when she actually has control of her power Malinda could help us! If she still wants to, that is."
Malinda said with a shaky voice,
"What happens if I don't help you?"
"Well it's your choice to help or not but I bet it would help Silverheart be able to control her magic more."
Edna then said,
"WAIT! SHE CAN'T CONTROL HER MAGIC?!"
I then said,
"Well I kinda can. But if my emotions somehow go all over the place then I have no control over my magic. I bet you are wondering why Soul is around me right?"
"Well yes I have been curious about that for a while now. I just didn't ask because I was worried that if I asked Soul, he would not be happy."
"I'll tell you then. Well I created Soul by accident when I got really angry and upset. I guess you could call him a seal for my magic. He makes my emotions less extreme and I guess while doing so he takes some of my magic. That's why he has so much magic power. He has been doing this for three thousand years so it makes sense that he has so much. But the one problem with the seal is that it actually can break if I get really mad or upset."
"You said if that happens you can't control your magic but it can't be that bad can it?"
Soul chuckled and said,
"You really are an idiot are you? Malinda said we have so much magic power and you think it won't be to bad? The good thing is when she did get mad the first time she was in the Underworld. Her magic is more of an explosion than just fire magic. The crater was as big as the city today and this was three thousand years ago when she was ten so she had even more magic now! It probably would be twice the size of that!"
"Oh....I see why you need Malinda's help when she has control of her power. What do you say Malinda? Will you help them when you can control your magic?"
Malinda then said,
"After hearing that I definitely will help you in the future. Even though Soul is scary and mean, Silverheart is pretty nice so I'm totally fine with helping her!"
I smiled at Malinda and said,
"Thank you so much! For now though don't take away some of my magic! I don't want to risk you dying if you take more than half of my magic!"
"I know! Don't worry I won't!"
Soul then said,
"Well I guess I don't have to be out anymore then. Actually I have something to say before I go, I hate all of you and everyone is so annoying!"
A flash of light appeared and disappeared. I then saw that Soul was back on my wrist. I sighed and said,
"I'm not at all surprised he said that before he left."
Edna then said,
"One thing I'm confused about is why he's like that!"
"I can tell you that! It's pretty easy to explain."
I explained to her why he's like that and Edna then said,
"That makes total sense! I remember you reading The Bloodwolfs to us and I see why Soul was created like that. I noticed that Soul likes you though. That's different from the book character, Soul."
"There is a reason for that but maybe I'll tell you another time. It kinda upsets me talking about it."
"That's okay, I understand. Brenna is cute though, she's sleeping on your shoulder."
"I looked down and said,
"She really is cute."
Edna paused and said,
"Actually I need to tell you something about Brenna."
"What is it?"
I hope it's nothing bad!
