I gently fold the last piece of clothing I need, and lay it down into the bag. I’m so excited, and I’m so grateful for Zoe to invite me. I glance at my perfectly stocked bag and I smile triumphantly. I zip it up and put it by the door. Ok, so my passport, my tickets and flight-documents are on the kitchen counter, my toiletries along with my outfit and accessories are on my desk, and my packed bag is now by the door. Finally. I’m daring enough to release a mini-squeal as I jump up and down in my white, tidy room. I’m going to Vid-Con. I let out a relieved sigh, and head to the bathroom. It’s Valentines Day tonight, and Ryan will be home any minute. It’s been long since we have spent real, quality time together. He’s been so distant lately. I brush the thought out of my head, as I set my hair up in a ponytail. I scowl at the brown haired girl with pale blue eyes in frustration. As I re-apply my makeup, I hear the door open from our narrow hallway. It’s Ryan. He is my two-year long boyfriend, and we share a flat. We met through our mutual friend, Julia, just after we graduated High School. And now he’s in college, working a part-time job at receptionist at his dad’s lawyer-firm. He frequently goes on trips with the firm, and he’s home from one today. I don’t go to college, and I make my earnings from my YouTube channel. It’s not much, but it keeps the money balanced. I have about a hundred thousand subscribers, and I don’t usually get invited to the big events such as Vid-Con, but this time Zoe invited me to join her and all her YouTube-friends. I have never met one of her friends, but Zoe and me have known each other since we were little 6 year olds in elementary school. We leave for Vid-Con tomorrow, so I’m lucky I get this one evening with Ryan. As I hear the door shut, I head for the entrance.

“Hi baby” I say and lean in for a kiss, and then I cover him with a hug.

“Hey Ali” he says quietly.

“’I’ve missed you” I state, as I realize he’s tired, probably from the flight. The firm travelled to the states in New York, so I assume it’s been a long trip.

“You too” he nods, as nothing changes in his stone-face. I begin to wonder as his face darkens of what lies underneath. He seems worried.

“Are you okay? Is something wrong?” I try, cupping his chins, forcing him to look at my curious eyes. His eyes stare weakly at mine, and I feel like something’s troubling him. He continues to keep his head down, as he grabs my arms gently.

“I love you,” he says, and relief runs through my body.

“I love you too,” I say, agreeing with him. His eyes clench, as if he is about to cry. What’s happening? Did something happen on the trip? I continue my worry as I run my hands behind his neck.

“Seriously, what’s wrong?” I say as he tries to hide from my eyes. My body tenses as he drags me to the couch and sits me down beside him. He looks up at me, and puts his hand on my thigh as tears settles in his eyes. I start to get really worried, and I put a hand on his chin, and force him once more to look at me as his face lowers.

“Tell Me,” I say, not being able to hide my worry. I look sternly at him, demanding him to tell me what’s wrong. I run my hands into his soft brown hair, and i stare into his deep, blue eyes.

“I love you, I love you so much” he says, grabbing my hands. He brings them up to his mouth, and kisses my knuckles. Oh no.

“I’m sorry Alison, I’m so sorry,” he says, tears running down his stubbed cheeks. My eyebrows twitch in confusion, and fear shoots me in the stomach. What’s going on?

“Ryan, tell me,” I say firmly.

“I… I cheated on you”.
