Mariji powerfully closed her bedroom door, sobs filling the room with uneven sounds. She made to reach for her bed, but crumbled down midway, falling on her knees. Securing her face inside the comfort of her hands, she started crying loudly, ashamed of herself. She stayed in this position until a comforting pair of hands landed on her shoulders, patting her softly.
Before she could turn to face him, Jaebeom softly encircled her in a warm backhug. She fell back on his chest, the steady beat of his heart soothing her tension, empying her mind instantly.
They stayed like this for a while, just breathing in and then out, now bringing the room into a complete state of calmness. After what had felt like at least 10 minutes, Mariji's tears had finally run out. Her head feeling heavy and blurry, she turned it to the side, setting it on the comfortable crook of his neck, breathing in his light, yet distinct scent.
-"I'm so sorry Beomie...", she almost whispered.
-"Don't. I did not mind them seeing us, if that's what you're thinking.", he reassured her, while burying his face in her hair, stroking it at the same time.
-"It's not just that. I feel... so two-faced."
Keeping up with comforting her, Jaebeom felt his curiosity rising.
-"Do you wanna talk about it?"
At the sound of his words, Mariji thought about telling him everything that was going through her head. A part of her, didn't want to ruin this vacation or this... bond they had started forming. The other part, though, it wanted to come clear and upfront.
Breaking free from his grasp, she turned to face him, her eyes scanning his beautiful face before she spoke.
-"I didn't have the chance to talk to you about this, yet, and honestly, I can't really tell what this relationship of ours is really, so I wasn't sure if I should adress this subject or not. Thing is, I, very recently, ended a very serious relationship. In fact, coming here to Korea was all Danny's idea, to kind of cheer me up, because I was feeling terrible right after that, for such a long time. It was so hard for me to step out of that situation and a big reasion why, is that I still have feelings for him, my ex boyfriend.", her eyes were going back and forth on the floor, in embarrassment. Taking a pause, she turned to look back at his dark eyes, covered by black heavy strands of hair. "On the other hand, there's you, and Jaebeom, I really, really like you. Even back when we came here together, I knew I was attracted to you, I literally could not stop thinking about you, for crying out loud. I thought it was just physical, hence I didn't pay much attention to my impulses, even after the first time we... were together. As the days went on though, I was yearning to talk to you, to be with you, to touch you...", she gently caressed the side of his face, only to pull it back abrupty, shortly after.
