Chapter Eight ( The girl in the Forest )

Seulgi's P.O.V

I was on my way back to her highness's chambers when I heard a familiar voice as I was about to knock. It sounds like princess Sooyoung. "Hmmm Maybe? But how come the guards did not notice that?" I heard princess Sooyoung say to her highness Joohyun. I'm curious what they're talking about, and I'm thinking I should knock now because her highness's food will get cold if I stay here until they finish their conversation.

*knock knock*

I knocked on her door twice "Come in" Her highness said to let me enter her room. When I entered her chambers, I noticed a girl sitting beside her highness Joohyun and I were right. It was princess Sooyoung. My eyes averted to princess Joohyun. I saw her smiling brightly once I entered."Unnie I must go now. Aunt Woo-ri must be waiting for me in Seren." The princess Sooyoung said as she tightly hugged her highness Joohyun."Okay, just be careful.Take care of yourself, and hug Aunt Woo-ri for me." After they bid goodbye, the princess Sooyoung excuses herself and leaves the room, which leaves the two of us here. I push the cart that is full of the princess's food in her direction."Good morning your highness. How are you doing this morning, your highness? Have you slept well? I know you're hungry. Here, eat your breakfast."

When I was about to serve her her food the princess suddenly stood up and walked to the balcony. She sat on one of the chairs there. There was a table and two chairs on the balcony that connected to her room. I immediately moved the cart to the balcony where the princess was. When I reached the balcony, I was amazed at how beautiful the scenery was. From up here, you can see the palace garden and a pond surrounded by beautiful trees with blooming flowers.It was beautiful. Now I understand why the princess wants to eat here instead of inside her chambers. It is because of the breathetaking view. But nothing is more beautiful than asterin. I heard the princess clear her troat, I was immediately transported back to reality."Please accept my apologies, your highness.Here is your food" I said to her while moving the plates to the table. When I finished moving the plates, I stood right beside her to watch her eat until she finished her food.  The princess looked at me "Seulgi-yah, why are you just standing there? Have you eaten yet?" She asked "It's all right, your highness; I've already eaten."

The princess nodded and began to eat her food. Watching the princess eat these delicious foods makes me hungry. I lied to her, I hadn't eaten yet and my stomach had started to growl. I'm hoping the princess doesn't hear my stomach growling, because that would be embarrassing. I saw the princess stop eating, then she looked at me."Umh Seulgi if it is okay with you, can you please move that chair to my side?" She asked. I nodded as my answer to her. Then I started to move the chair to her side."Could you please take a seat, Seulgi-yah?" The princess said with a cute voice. With how adorable she is right now, how could I say no?, I immediately did what she ordered me to do and sat on the said chair. I was surprised at what happened next" Here. Seulgi-yah eat this. I know you're starving." She said to me while holding a fork with food on it. I ate the food she was attempting to feed me right away. Then she grabbed the tea pot and poured it into a tea cup. The inside of it was not a tea. I recall Jisoo saying earlier that the princess requested hot chocolate instead of the tea she usually drinks in the morning, which she finds strange. After pourring the hot chocolate on the tea cup, she put the cup in front of me."Aren't you going to drink it, your highness?"I said, confused, while looking at the cup of hot chocolate in front of me."No. It's for you to drink. I know you love a cup of hot chocolate in the morning."She replied, pouring another hot chocolate into another cup. Wait, how come the princess knows that I love drinking hot chocolate in the morning? I know you think it is a bit childish to have a hot chocolate in the morning instead of tea or coffee."How did you know that I love drinking these, your highness?" I said, looking at her. She lifts the cup of hot chocolate and takes a sip. She put the cup down then answered"Easy, you know Seul, every body loves hot chocolate. That is why I figured out that you may also love it." Hmm, she had a point. I mean, who doesn't love hot chocolate?.I grab the cup and drink it. After finishing the delicious cup of hot chocolate, my eyes averted to her highness. Her gaze was on the carriage that had just exited the palace gates. I wonder who was the person inside that carriage.

Sooyoung's POV

I was in the carriage on my way to Seren. When I recall the moment earlier when I was with Joohyun Unnie, then I realise that there is something strange about how Joohyun Unnie acted this morning. I was in deep thinking when the carriage abruptly came to a halt, jolting me back to reality. I looked at the side window of the carriage and saw a guard coming towards my direction. "What is the matter? Why do we stop? Is there something wrong?" I asked the guard."Your highness, there is a girl blocking our way. She seems unconcious. She was wounded and her body was covered in blood." The guard answered.Out of my curiosity, I opened the door and stepped outside the carriage. As I approached the front of the carriage, I noticed the coachman and the body of the aforementioned girl. I walked closer to them, then the coachman immediately rose and bowed" Your highness, what should we do about this girl?" I knelt to get a good look at the girl in front of me. There was blood dripping from her forehead and every part of her body was wounded. I stood up and signalled the guard to come to me."What are we going to do with her, your highness? Should we kill her?" The guard who approached me said."No, we should help her." I stated coldly. Then I turned around and got back inside the carriage. I said to the guards to carry the girl and put her inside the carriage with me. Then I ordered the coachman to drive faster to Seren.

Seulgi's POV

As I finished the food that the princess had given me, I noticed that she had already finished hers, at which point she stood up and returned to the room. I stood up and wiped down the plates and tea cups that we use and put them back in the cart. I pushed the cart inside the room, then I saw the princess sitting on a chair while reading a book."Ummh. Should I summon Lady Kim to prepare and assist you in your bath, Your Highness?" I asked her. She placed down the book that she was reading and averted her gaze at me.

No. Seul Is it okay for you to help me with my bath?
