Today was a busy day in the palace. The knights and most servants were preparing for a massive all-kingdom tournament.
The kitchens were just as packed as the halls, so no one noticed when a face poked in through a half-open door.
A boy with ocean- deep opalescent blue eyes that reflected the sky perfectly, and brown hair with golden strands as the sunlight bounced on them, wearing a long hickory brown cloak snuck into the kitchen, crawling his way to a long table with some food items on it. He grabbed a couple of pieces of bread from a basket and made his way out of the palace.
He moved quickly yet slowly so he wouldn't look suspicious. Once he was out, under the sun, the hood's shadow covered his face completely. He smiled big when he got out without any trouble. The skin around his eyes crinkled and his teeth showed.
He walked out, still hiding behind the hood, looking around at every detail of the kingdom.
He stopped walking when he saw a cart full of artistic colorful flowers. He gasped slightly, smiling even brighter and practically ran towards it, making the lady carrying it stop and smile. She wore a white dress that reached her ankles with a brown belt, and a wimple that covered her head. Her long, curly, black hair strands coming out of it rested right below her shoulders. She had smooth brown skin, a few freckles on her nose and cheeks. Her eyes were a dark colour, although hidden by the shadow of the wimple.
"They're beautiful!" he breathed, ghosting his hands over the cart.
The lady chuckled a little, "They really are." She replied. The boy bit his lip and moved out of the way to let the lady go. He kept looking at the cart of flowers, slowly moving back.
As he walked backwards he suddenly bumped into something- or rather someone big causing him to whip his head towards them. He looked back at what caused him to almost fall and was now facing a tall, muscular person with an angry face.
"Ay! Watch where you're going, you clodpate!" He yelled.
"Sorry," he apologized, and roll his eyes. "Arse," he said under his breath.
"What did you just say to me?!" He growled, making a fist of his palm and swinging it. The boy grabbed the fist before it could reach his face and threw it down with force, making the bigger guy lose his balance and fall.
He got up looking angrier than before and swung his fist again, trying to hit him but the boy dodged the it each time, moving back, making sure not to hurt anyone. The bigger guy kept falling or getting hit by small things in his way that he was too blinded by anger to notice. Soon, a few people ran up to the two and grabbed the angry guy from the back. The boy gave the bigger guy a smug look before freezing in realization. He then gulped and tried to leave the scene without being noticed, but on his way, he felt a big hand on his shoulder. The boy scrunched his face, knowing he was caught now and then turned around to face a big man in armor. The man raised his eyebrow but also had a hint of a smile on his lips.
"Going somewhere, your majesty?" He said.
"Higgins," the boy smiled, nodding slightly.

"Please don't tell father. He'd be furious!" Prince Louis begged, handing the pieces of bread to a few kids out the palace door as they made their way in.
"I have to sire. The king could easily tell if I lie to him, and if I do lie, he would have me executed without another thought." Higgins replied with a sigh.
"You know, you give my father too much credit." Louis rolled his eyes.
"I must keep you safe. It's the whole point of my job, to keep the prince alive." Higgins replied slowly and sternly.
"I am alive." Louis replied.
"No thanks to you." He replied, and William chuckled. Higgins then sighed in defeat and changed the topic.
"The queen is waiting for you in your-" Higgins started, and William gasped.
"Thank you! You're amazing." William exclaimed, running up to his room. Higgins smiled, watching him.

In one of the neighboring kingdoms, a boy sat on his palace window looking out from his room. His hand rested under his chin, his bottom lip sticking out a little.
There was a large bed beside the window with a really comfortable-looking mattress on it. His face was tinted a pretty pink color due to the cold breeze hitting his face. The window had green creepers surrounding it. There was a pot right beside the boy with a little leaf sticking out from the soil. The boy sighed and dragged himself away from the window. He sat on the bed, leaning back on the wood end.
His eyes were the sweet hue of spring clover. His deep green eyes glimmered while scanning the room for something interesting to do, slightly pouting his lips as he did so. He looked around for a while until his eyes finally landed on the flower pot. He smiled and messed up his dark brown, curly locks before crawling to the edge of his bed. He rubbed his palms together, then pointed his palm at the pot, slowly moving it upwards. The little leaf sticking out bloomed into a big, beautiful flower. He stopped, dropping his hand when he heard knocking on the door. Before he could say anything, a blond girl with big sea blue eyes walked in.
"Prince Harry!" She exclaimed, grabbing the edge of her long navy blue dress and bowing. A huge, smug smile plastered on her face.
"Sophia! See, when I say knock before entering, I mean wait till I allow you to enter." Harry scoffed, sitting back.
"Too bad, I am bored enough." She said, walking in and grabbing an apple from the basket on the table and taking a bite, then keeping it on the silver plate, "Did you do that? It looks beautiful." She said, excited, walking toward the pot and smelling the flower.
"Well, thank you..." he walked over to the apple and handed it to Jamie, "Eat it all." He ordered, but with a sarcastic smile.
She took it, returning the satirical smile, "Father tells me we are invited to some tournament."
"I hardly want to go, so let's not talk about it." He said, sitting back down on the bed. Sophia's eyes followed his movement.
"Oh, come on, aren't you even a little excited to visit another kingdom?"
"Let me think...No." He said, making Jamie scoff and roll her eyes. "Our kingdom is beautiful. Why leave?"
"See, now I know why you aren't friends with other Princes," She said, taking a big bite of the apple.
"I'm a fairy. I could make many fake, arrogant prince friends if I were interested."
"Not all royalty are arrogant and ignorant." Sophia huffed.
"I never said ignorant, but thank you, they are that too." He said.
"Are you interested in going hunting?" She asked.
"No," He replied instantly, "Stop doing that!"
"Well, then let's go out in the kingdom, do something before I peel my skin off."
"Now that's something I'd like."
"Going for a walk?"
"Peeling your skin off. Well, I won't be a part of that, but it sure sounds in-"
Sophia grunted and pulled Harry off the bed, dragging him out for a walk.
