The Sports Festival was officially over. And everyone was tired and worn out. I am too. To be honest, all I want to do is go back to Enji's and take a long shower and nap. But there was this other part of me that wanted to do something else. And that part of me was a lot louder than the tired, put me to sleep part.
While walking out of the school building with Shoto, we saw Enji's car. Then I also saw Bakugou walking by himself. He looks more grumpy than usual. And with everyone trying to avoid him, I just felt so bad. I really want to know what was going on in his mind.
"Hey Sho, I'll be home later ok. I wanna check on someone," I say starting to walk a little faster, turning to look at Shoto.
"Alright. Bye," Shoto says emotionlessly.
I gave him a smile and a wave, then quickly ran after Bakugou. "HII!" I say excitedly. He doesn't reply. He stays silent. I hate being ignored. "Why didn't your parents come to pick you up?"
He lets out an ashamed sigh but stays silent. I sigh as well. "Congrats on winning," I say with a big, bright smile on my face. He was starting to get annoyed.
Maybe he isn't happy with his win. But why. I have to get to the bottom of this. But how? Hmm.
I noticed a cafe not too far from where we were and got an idea. "Will you talk to me if I buy you food?"
He stops, and I do too. Standing 1 step in front of him, I turn my body to face him. "Why are you following me?" He asks finally breaking his silence. I tilt my head in confusion.
That's what he's asking. Not, 'how are you gonna pay when you're broke' or something?
"Well, I don't really wanna go to Enji's since he's a dick, and I don't like him," I admit. "Plus, you seem upset. And I want to know what's wrong,"
He sighs one last time. "Your paying," He says as he starts walking again.
"Paying for what?" I ask confused trying to match his pace.
"The fucking Cafe. You suggested it. Your paying," He barks annoyed. I laugh a little.
"That seems fair," We both walk to the cafe. When we get in we wait in line for a moment, then order. He got a drink, and I got a drink and a doughnut. After paying and getting our drinks, we find a table. When we sit down, he stays quiet. He barely looks at me. However, I notice that he keeps glancing down at my wrist. The same wrist that I was wearing the bracelet he gave me a while ago. "I still wear it. Everyday." I say with a smile. He looks at me confused.
"Wear what?"
This kid.
I roll my eyes. "The bracelet you bought me the first time we hung out with our friends. When we all went to the mall together. It's kinda like a lucky charm, I think,"
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He looks at me offended.
I chuckle a little bit. "Well, when I used to train with Shoto, I would always lose, but ever since I started wearing this, I haven't lost a fight. Even in the sports festival," I explain.
He raises an eyebrow. "You weren't wearing it when you fought me,"
"Well, I know you would go all out, and to be honest, I almost lost it when I was fighting with Mina. I didn't really realize that until I got to the stands, but whatever. When I realized that, I asked Mina to hold it so I wouldn't lose it. But then I lost so-..."
He looks away trying to cover his face with the cup and his hand. "That's so stupid. You won those fights cause you're going to be a good hero. There was no luck involved," He says trying to stay tuff, but it wasn't working very well. I chuckle a little.
