Rainbow Dash's POV
Upon seeing the strange she-cat, I tensed up, flattening my ears and letting out a small hiss. The she-cat placed the leaves down in front of her and looked at the two of us calmly.
"Relax, both of you," she meowed. Something in her voice seemed very calming, yet I refused to let my guard down, even as she continued. "I'm not going to hurt you. I promise." Slowly, she padded forward, keeping her gaze locked with mine. My fur bristled and I curled my tail closer to my flank. The gray she-cat paused for a moment, before sitting down in front of us with her tail resting over her paws.
After a few moments, Fluttershy looked back at me. "Rainbow, I think she's trying to help," she whispered, "I recognize some of those leaves from the animal sanctuary back in Equestria. Those are herbs used for treating wounds!" Hearing this made me realize that perhaps this she-cat really was someone we could trust, and at last, I let my fur lay flat and my body relax. Still, I watched her closely as she stepped close enough to properly look at my scratches. She sorted through the herbs, supposedly looking for which ones would work best, and eventually she found the ones she needed and began chewing them up and placing them on the scratches.
Whatever juices from the leaves seeped through my fur and into the wounds, causing them to sting. At once, I flinched, hissing and unsheathing my claws. The she-cat blinked calmly. "It's okay," she meowed, "It's supposed to sting. That means it's working to prevent infection."
I slowly nodded, before another voice called out nearby.
"Shadespark!" I turned to see two more cats trotting forward. The larger one was a brown tom with lighter and darker patches and yellow eyes. The smaller one was also a tom, and he was a gray tabby with green eyes. He seemed a bit annoyed to be there, rolling his eyes as the older tom spoke. "Featherpaw fell into the river along the ThunderClan border, and got into trouble with Mintfur."
Shadespark, the dark gray she-cat, shook her head and rose to her paws. "Won't that warrior ever learn to mind his own business? If Featherpaw isn't on ThunderClan territory, then Mintfur has no right to attack her." She glanced at Fluttershy and I for a moment, before turning back to the brown tom. "Thorntail, I'd like you to lead those two cats to the WindClan camp. Take them to the medicine den and tell them I'll be with them shortly." Turning to the younger gray tom, she meowed, "Darkpaw, lead the way to Featherpaw."
The two toms nodded, and Thorntail padded closer to us. He looked at Fluttershy for a moment before quickly shaking his head and flicking his tail as he walked away, looking back to make sure we were following. We followed him further into the moor, which was harder for me due to my wounds. Eventually we came to a large sandy patch with several dens. There were cats everywhere we looked. Some stopped to look at us, while others were busy talking amongst themselves.
Soon we were inside one of the dens. I recognized some of the scents from the leaves that Shadespark had, and I realized this was the den she mentioned. Fluttershy looked at me carefully for a moment, before turning to face Thorntail.
"Shadespark mentioned cobweb when she found us," she meowed, "She said that was good for stopping bleeding. I think she had some with her, but was interrupted before she could use it. There's some in here, I see it, but, do you think she'd mind if I grabbed some to help Rainbow?"
Thorntail was silent for a moment before shaking his head. "No, she won't mind. She went out to collect more herbs before she found you two anyway."
Fluttershy padded over to where a bunch of herbs lay on some rocks in the den. She turned back to me with a stick covered in cobweb. As she crouched forward to press the cobweb onto the scratches, Shadespark's voice came from behind us, just outside the den.
