Snowpaw's POV (Rarity)

"Snowpaw! Duskpaw!" My ear twitched as Splashfeather padded into the apprentice den. Duskpaw and I turned to face the gray medicine cat tom in surprise.

"Softpaw's here and she's asking for you two," he meowed, flicking his tail toward the camp entrance. I got up from my nest and trotted over to the pale ginger she-cat, with Duskpaw following close behind.

Softpaw flicked her ear anxiously as we approached, a sense of urgency in her eyes. I rested my tail over hers as I sat down, getting her to relax a little. "Softpaw, darling, what's the matter?" I asked.

"I just received a vision, along with the same prophecy from the night before the Gathering," she explained, "When I told Shadespark about it, she seemed worried, and told me to get you two, as well as Spicepaw, Bubblepaw, Lightpaw, and Breezepaw. She and Dashpaw are waiting on the island."

My whiskers twitched in surprise. Duskpaw echoed my reaction. "This must be serious," she thought out loud, "StarClan wouldn't be repeating the prophecy if it weren't important." Softpaw nodded.

"That's why Shadespark also wants all the other medicine cats there," the pale ginger she-cat meowed. Splashfeather and Lilypool stepped forward, having heard Softpaw. Duskpaw's tail twitched for a moment as she thought.

"What I'm wondering is why she wanted us there," she murmured, "If this is about a prophecy and vision from StarClan, then why are any cats other than the medicine cats involved?"

"She didn't say," Softpaw told us, "But she wants us to get to the island as soon as possible." We all nodded and the five of us headed first toward ShadowClan territory to collect Spicepaw, Bubblepaw, and Oakwhisker, and then to ThunderClan for Lightpaw, Breezepaw, Leafwing, and Firepaw.

When at last we all arrived on the island, Softpaw explained what she saw in her vision. "Just across the stream between WindClan and ThunderClan territory, I spotted a dark figure lurking in the trees, and it had dark amber almost red eyes that were glowing in the dark, but when I stepped closer to get a better look, it vanished and I saw a shredded maple leaf laying on the ground. I blinked and when I opened my eyes I was back in camp."

Suddenly I heard a twig snap, and I whipped my head over to the sound, spotting a very dark coloured she-cat hiding in the bushes, her amber eyes wide. I let out a startled gasp as I saw the cat, quickly turning to face Softpaw. "The dark figure you saw-" I began, before flicking my tail toward the bushes, "it wouldn't happen to be that she-cat over there, would it?"

Softpaw looked at the she-cat for a moment, observing as much detail as she could, before turning back and shaking her head. "No that's not it," she meowed, "The cat I saw was mostly black with some very dark gray markings, and while that she-cat also has mostly black fur and dark amber eyes, the markings are dark ginger, not dark gray. And I'm pretty sure the cat in my vision was a tom." Breezepaw suddenly stared at the she-cat after hearing Softpaw's description, but as soon as her dark blue eyes met the amber eyes, the dark she-cat sprinted away.

The blue-gray apprentice's eyes continued to stare at the bushes where the mysterious she-cat had been, and as I looked at her, I noticed they were deep in thought. She then looked me straight in the eyes and spoke, her words barely audible.

"I've seen that cat before, I'm sure of it," she muttered. Her gaze drifted back to the bushes, her eyes narrowed as she thought. "But where?"
