Dashpaw's POV (Rainbow Dash)

I let out a small yawn as the sky began growing lighter. It would be time for the dawn patrol soon, which meant training wouldn't be long after. Slowly I stretched and looked around the den. Darkpaw, Mosspaw, and Featherpaw were still asleep, but they'd be awake soon when our mentors came to get us.

Featherpaw shifted a bit in her nest, almost rolling out of it and startling herself awake. Darkpaw was also woken up from the noise and let out a hiss of annoyance, getting up and dragging the small gray she-cat back into her nest.

"When will you learn to just stay there when you sleep?" Darkpaw growled, his green eyes narrowed.

Featherpaw looked up at the gray tabby tom. "I'm trying to but-" She was cut off when Darkpaw swiped his paw over her ear, tearing it slightly with his claws. At once I got up and knocked Darkpaw away from Featherpaw, hissing at the gray tabby before getting off him and sitting beside the smaller she-cat.

"What is his problem?" I muttered to myself, "Are you alright, Featherpaw?" She nodded, but kept her face turned away from me when I tried to look. She only ever let me see one of her eyes at a time, but I never understood why. "Featherpaw, I'm trying to make sure you're okay, but I need to see you." I meowed, trying not to get annoyed at her.

At last Featherpaw spoke. "Promise you won't judge?"

At first I thought of saying the Pinkie Pie Promise rhyme, but then I remembered cats wouldn't know what a cupcake is, so instead I simply nodded and said, "I promise."

The small gray she-cat finally turned to face me, but when I saw both of her eyes at once, I couldn't help but let out a gasp. One of them was looking straight at me, but the other one was pointed more upward. This on its own wasn't what surprised me, as I'd seen this before, back in Equestria. But seeing that made me realize just how familiar she looked. A gray she-cat with uneven yellow eyes- I'd seen that all before, only it was a pony rather than a cat.

Specifically, a certain gray pegasus mare with a light yellow mane and tail and uneven yellow eyes.

"Derpy!!" I exclaimed. Featherpaw's eyes widened and she raised her tail, signalling for me to be quiet. After a moment she got up, flicking her ears for me to follow her. Once she was sure we were out of earshot from any other cats she sat down and had me do the same.

"Since you know that name," she began, "am I safe to assume that means you're also from Equestria?" I nodded. "And I know Softpaw is as well," she continued, and before I could ask how she knew, she explained.

(Flashback in Featherpaw's POV)

"Are you okay?" a small voice asked. I turned my head to see a pale ginger she-cat looking at me, her turquoise eyes wide with concern. This was one of the two new cats I noticed when Shadespark brought me into the medicine den, the other one, a blue-gray she-cat with amber eyes, was now asleep.

As soon as the pale ginger cat saw my eyes, her own eyes widened in surprise, but it was mixed with something else, and as soon as I noticed it, she started to seem familiar to me, and I was certain I'd met her before. But that can't be possible, I thought, I'd remember if I'd seen her.

Unless...

"What's your name?" I asked her, "I feel like I've met you before." She hesitated for a moment before responding.

"I believe you have," she meowed, making sure only I could hear. "I'm Fluttershy."
