Chapter 7

Dani and Zack went to the lab for some reason since their biology class is going to be held there. Once the two of them arrived they immediately felt someone staring straight at them.

"Valerie!!" Dani shouted in joy, thankfully they are the only people who are currently in the classroom and leaped onto her arms.

"Hey, Dani! How have you been doing?" Valerie chirped smiling and hugging the halfa.

"I'm doing well especially when I came back" Dani answered with a smile.

"By the way... I can't help but notice you being chummy with the new guy~" Valerie teased Dani who started to blush and playfully hit her.

"Zack... is a precious... friend... I made in my travels" Dani answered sheepishly while Zack only wryly smiled.

'At least she thinks of me as a precious friend' Zack thought which easily cheered him up.

"We met when she was traveling in the Philippines, she started to live with me and my family so we treat her as Family" Zack stated while slightly emphasizing the word family.

"I see~" Valerie said in a manner which you can tell what she really meant to say which is 'whatever you say, I know what is really happening'

"Red Huntress?" Zack asked no one in particular, he just found an old newspaper lying on the ground with a picture of the Red Huntress in it. Valerie who heard her alter ego's name visibly became tense.

"Big sis Valerie?" Zack asked worried why she became stiff, this, of course, made Dani giggle remembering Zack calling even robbers as big brother or big sister as he defeated them.

"Zack, we are not in the Philippines" Dani said with a smile which made Zack confused but then realize his mistake.

"Ah... I'm sorry!" Zack bowed when he fully realized it.

"Pfft- Hahhahahahaha!!!" Dani and Valerie both started laughing.

"Now I know why you are close to him, he is like your cousin" Valerie said to Dani which surprised her to say the least due to knowing full well what Valerie meant.

"Yep, They are both the type to do something for others more than for themselves while also being idiotic at times" Dani answered still with a childish innocent smile which made Zack try his hardest for his heart to not suddenly jump out of his chest as well as clutching the wound on his stomach.

"Hey! I am only like that to my friends or acquaintances that I get along with!" Zack said while puffing up one of his cheeks and crossing his arms which made Valerie laugh and Dani to burry her face onto Valerie's chest more since if she showed her face they would see it painted crimson.

"Little Missy I trust that you will explain everything to me later" Valerie said with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

'Hold on a minute!! Does she think that I forced Dani to do things that she didn't want?!!!' Zack wondered.

"I just helped her out when she needed it!! I promise that I didn't have any bad intentions or forced her to do anything!!" Zack shouted misunderstanding what Valerie meant.

"No, you misunderstood, what I meant to say was for her to tell you and me the truth since I can see that you deeply care for her so you deserve to know it" Valerie said which made Dani feel cold... colder than usual.

"Does he have to?" Dani asked while looking up at Valerie with slightly moist eyes.

"He deserves to know besides if you want things to move forward you need to trust him more" Valerie said then the teacher arrived along with their other classmates while Zack felt that something big will happen soon.

The class was about the human internal organs: where they are placed, they're functions, and the names of those organs. In short it was a fairly easy class if you are paying attention or at least that's what pretty much all of the students think. Meanwhile Zack was having the time of his life and answering questions and getting them right even though those questions were only supposed to be for medical students which of course surprised many yet all things must come to an end as the bell rings.

"Man, that was fun" Zack said to no one but himself.

"I see you enjoyed it like always" Dani said while giggling a little.

"Definitely! But I wonder why everyone thinks that I would want to be in the medical field in the future? It would be a hassle to memorize all sorts of stuff" Zack said while slightly complaining.

"Huh? Then why do you like biology then?" Dani was confused about Zack since for all she knows people tend to study things related to their dreams.

"Yes I am interested in it but I don't want my life to revolve around it besides I already have a pretty bad record with hospitals that are near me" Zack answered sheepishly, this of course made Dani curious about what Zack had done in order to get a bad record in a hospital.

"Please tell me what you did in order get a bad record in hospitals! Pretty please~" Dani started to beg which only made Zack sigh.

"Tell me the truth as well" Zack stated without any emotions since he himself harbored doubts about Dani's existence.

"Even if you do not desire what you are currently, I will always stay by your side" Zack thought or at least that was what he was going for but sadly he accidentally said it out loud.

Dani who heard this begin to redden while Valerie who also heard this couldn't hold back herself and turned around to avoid seeing the two yet she can be seen trembling, laughing.

"Dani, are you okay? You're awfully red" Zack asked as he placed his hand on Dani's forehead which caused the poor girl to turn crimson.

"Zack!! You idiot!!!!" Dani shouted as she rushed out of the school towards the back.

"Huh?" Zack was completely speechless meanwhile the trio who arrived to pick up Dani only heard Zack's little confession which made the parents of the girl they came to pick up have mixed feelings.
