''only true love can melt her heart''

Everyone at the Scamander household was ready — for their eldest daughter to begin her magic.

"Ready?" Elsa asked softly.

"Yes, yes, yes!" Anna chirped, clapping her hands in delight.

Elsa tapped her foot against the stone path, and at once, frost spread beneath her like glass. Then, lifting her hands gracefully toward the sky, she summoned her magic — and snow began to fall.

Little Anna squealed with joy, running about in the flurry with childlike wonder.

"Be careful, Anna and Elsa," warned Annie Scamander from the doorway, her voice gentle but firm.

"Yes, Mum," the sisters answered in unison, exchanging a glance filled with mischief.

Anna dashed toward the snow piling on the ground, and Elsa chased after her, laughter in their wake.

They knelt together, smiling, and began building a snowman — shaping frozen dreams with their hands.

From a nearby bench, Annie and Newt Scamander watched their daughters with warm eyes and full hearts.

When the snowman was finished, the girls stood proudly beside it, waving at their parents to look.

Annie and Newt clapped with delight.

"Nice snowman there," Newt said, his voice filled with affection.

Elsa and Anna beamed. Then Anna leaned in and whispered something into Elsa’s ear.

Elsa turned to her and gave a small nod.

Anna crouched into a running stance while Elsa lifted her hands, forming an icy slope with a flick of her fingers.

"Be careful," Elsa warned softly.

Anna smiled up at her sister with love and nodded. Elsa returned the nod, and Anna turned, bracing herself.

"Three… two… one…" Elsa counted, and on ‘one’, Anna took off.

She climbed the first slope and leapt; Elsa formed another, then another, creating a magical, frozen path beneath her sister’s feet. The ice shimmered under the snowy sky as Anna danced across the air.

For a moment, it was perfect.

But Anna’s speed began to increase — too fast even for Elsa’s reflexes. Still, Elsa tried, pouring her energy into each icy ramp, refusing to let her sister fall.

At last, Anna jumped — too fast, too far.

With everything she had left, Elsa summoned one final slope. Anna landed safely.

But Elsa collapsed.

Annie, Newt, and Anna rushed to her side, calling her name, shaking her gently. When Elsa didn’t respond, Newt gathered her in his arms, and they ran — to the trolls.

---

The ancient forest seemed to hold its breath as they approached.

“Rockwell!” Newt called desperately.

An elder troll rolled toward them, his moss-covered brow furrowed with concern as he laid eyes on Elsa.

“Look at her,” Newt pleaded.

Rockwell examined the girl with great care, then slowly turned to face the family.

“She’s used all her power,” he said gravely. “And as she begins to age, her magic grows stronger.”

His gaze darkened. “Her heart… it’s becoming one of ice.”

“What?” Annie cried, her voice sharp with fear.

“Yes,” Rockwell confirmed solemnly.

“How can we heal it?” Newt asked, his tone calm despite the storm behind his eyes.

“Only true love can melt her heart,” the troll replied.

“B-but how will we know it’s her true love?” Anna asked, her voice small and trembling.

“She’ll feel it,” Rockwell answered gently. “She’ll feel the warmth.”

He placed his hands over Elsa’s head. “For now, I will heal her. But in time, she must find that love — or risk being lost to the cold within.”

Rockwell looked up once more. “And you mustn’t cut her off from others. If her heart closes, she’ll forget how to love. And once it’s frozen… it may never thaw again.”

The family watched in silence as Rockwell worked.

Moments passed.

Then he lifted his hands.

“She is well,” he said.

A collective breath escaped the Scamanders as relief flooded their faces.

They thanked the troll, turning to leave — but Rockwell raised a hand.

Newt paused.

“Keep her away from… you-know-who,” the troll said gravely. “Or else—”

He didn’t finish.

He didn’t need to.

Annie and Newt exchanged a look of quiet dread, while little Anna stared up in confusion, unaware of the name cloaked in shadow.

Newt nodded once.

And with that, the Scamander family made their way home — the snow still falling gently behind them.
