In the candle-lit halls of Hogwarts, where magic stirs with every whisper, Harry Potter begins his first year - unaware that fate has woven another soul into his journey.
Elsa Scamander, silent as snowfall and powerful as a storm, arrives cloaked in...

"We think Snape put a curse on Harry's broom yesterday," I said to Hagrid as we walked to his hut after the Quidditch match.
Hagrid frowned. "Nonsense! Why would he do that?"
"Who knows?" Anna added. "Why was he trying to get past that three-headed dog on Halloween?"
"Who told yeh 'bout Fluffy?" Hagrid froze.
"Fluffy?" Hermione echoed, raising an eyebrow.
"That thing has a name?" Ron looked horrified.
"'Course he's got a name. I bought him off an Irish bloke I met in a pub last year. Lent him to Dumbledore to guard the-" Hagrid paused. "Ah, no. I shouldn't've said that."
"Yes?" Harry leaned in.
"I shouldn't've said that. No more questions. That's top secret."
"But Hagrid, whatever Fluffy is guarding, Snape is trying to steal it," Harry insisted.
"Codswallop!" Hagrid said firmly. "Snape's a Hogwarts professor!"
"Professor or not, I know a spell when I see one," Hermione said. "You have to maintain eye contact-and Snape wasn't blinking."
"Quirrell wasn't blinking either," I murmured. "Maybe Snape was countering the curse."
"Why are you defending him?" Anna asked, giving me a look.
"I'm not. Just... saying."
Hagrid shook his head. "Listen, you five need to stay out of things that don't concern you. It's dangerous. What Fluffy's guardin'-that's between Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel."
"Nicholas who?" Ron asked.
"I shouldn't have said that!" Hagrid groaned again and stomped off.

THIRD PERSON POV
It was the day before Christmas at Hogwarts, and the castle sparkled with enchanted snow, floating ornaments, and twinkling lights. Professors were busy decorating, and Hagrid dragged in enormous trees with the help of some eager students.
Most students had gone home. Only Harry, Ron, Elsa, and Anna remained. The Scamanders' parents had gone off chasing some rare magical creature, while the boys had other reasons for staying-Harry, of course, called Hogwarts his only home. Hermione promised she'd return soon to help with their search for Nicholas Flamel, but in the meantime, she left a clue:
"Try the Restricted Section."

ELSA'S POV
I woke up early, excitement buzzing through me-my first Christmas at Hogwarts! Anna was already awake, her eyes twinkling. We got dressed quickly and made our way to the common room, where we found Ron and Harry already by the fireplace.
