"Seems like we're in a tricky situation." Hades says as he leans back against the mahogany bar top. "How exactly do you plan on ending this cycle?"
"We still do not know." Aurora says, spinning a knife between her fingers. "I imagine it would mean us not doing anything to jeopardize our current incarnations."
"Ahh so naturally, you all came to look for me to make sure that I didn't do anything. I see the distrust is still very much alive."
"Cut the pity act," Parker responds from the pool table. "We all know you and Ares are the most likely to create a calamity strong enough to restart the cycle. Do you know where he is?"
"No. Believe it or not, I don't really hang out with Ares. He's too much of a hot head for me. I prefer to slowly torture people; I can't do that if Ares just kills them all."
"How did you wake up?" Zander asks, standing next to Helen, facing Hades.
"Long story short, I accidently killed a man. When I knelt down to make sure he was okay, a blue mist radiated from his body and went into me. That's when I had flashes of who I was. Although, I am disappointed that I'm not at full strength. I would've had a lot more fun."
"Don't sound too disappointed." Helen snarled.
"I see you're back to your old self Hera. Good. That goodie goodie act didn't fit you."
"My name is Helen."
"Why are you all using those silly names? You don't see me calling myself Hunter."
"Is that your name?" Parker chuckled from the table.
"Don't push me." Hunter says, laying down his beer. "I may not be at full strength, but I will still find a way to kill you."
"Oh, is that so?" Parker says, throwing down the cue stick. "Why don't we test out that theory?" He begins to walk over but Zander sticks his hand up and lightning shoots onto the ground in front of both men.
"Enough! We have to come up with a way to stop this cycle and figure out who's behind it."
"You sure talk a lot for a guy that caused some of the biggest calamities in history." Parker remarked, walking back to the table.
"What are you talking about?" Zander asked, heading over to Parker.
"Oh great, here we go again. I'll be outside." Hera said, heading to the door.
"I think I will join you." Added Aurora.
Zander walks over to the table, grabs Parker's cue stick and snaps it in two. Hades cracks a grin as his body collapses into a blackhole and he disappears.
"Answer. The. Question." Zander said, his eyes beginning to glow a stormy grey.
"You act like you're better than the rest of us. Always walking around like you know best. News flash, no one voted you king, you took it for yourself." Parker says, shoving Zander with enough force to send him flying into the back wall. "Hades and Ares may be the most irrational of us, but you've been responsible for restarting the cycle the most! You killed us all on that mountain, you caused the Luxembourg disaster, and you've killed so many offspring that I can't even keep count! All to protect your precious role of king."
Every word Parker spits angers Zander. Someone needs to control these insects. I'm the only one capable of doing so, Zander thought as he dug himself out of the wall, leaving a massive dent in the wood paneling.
"I took the role of king because none of you were strong enough! I was the one who killed father. Me! I have the responsibility of reminding mankind of who is really in charge."
