That weekend, the Tenterhooks and Durrell made a trip to a resort in Elk Hill. They had decided to practice in a different atmosphere that day.
Malini and Aparna were dancers now and Devi played a single guitar. The rest of them were in the same positions as the previous performance.
"Amazing!" said Durrell. "Just keep practicing like this, and everyone will love you all!"
The people who were staying in the resort seemed to love their music.
"Mr Johnson!" said Vishwanath, the passerby whom we saw earlier. He was a neighbour and a close friend of Durrell's.
"Hello Vishwanath!" said Durrell. "How are you?"
"What about me, sir? I'm good."
Durrell smiled. "This is my grandson, Chris," he said, introducing the boy to him. "And these are his friends."
"You all are singing beautifully," appreciated Vishwanath. After a short conversation with Durrell, Vishwanath left.
Unfortunately for them, Sumanika's group was also there.
"Oh, Chris!" said Sumanika. "Still with the plain Priya? Why don't you leave those cattle class people and join me?"
Christopher was enraged. How dare that unscrupulous git call his friends that? But he kept his cool and answered, "Well, I prefer humans more than devils."
"You na, are so foolish. Choosing to be with that cattle class Priya instead of the classy me!"
"Don't fight with these haughty cockerels and waste your time, dears," said Durrell. "Let's go and practice in another corner."
The youngsters agreed with him and went.
"Sumi, we must take revenge on them!" said Aman and Jay. "Even Chris' grandfather has insulted you now!" added Ishaan, Maya and Teena.
Sumanika agreed. "Let's perform this," she said, and whispered something into her friends' ears.
