From then on, Priya was Christopher's best friend. She had successfully brought out the best in him. She had never let him feel low when Sumanika or anyone else persecuted him.
That weekend, the gang were on an outing to the Pykara Waterfalls.
Christopher was a star swimmer, and had an acute case of aquaphilia. The moment he saw the water, he tossed his shirt away and dashed towards it.
"Crazy boy," said Priya. The rest of them decided to wait a while before getting into the fun.
While Christopher frolicked in the water, Priya told the others all about his love for Melinda.
"Linda means the world to Chris. But he did not want his independent decision to affect her career aspirations. That's why he broke up with her. But he still loves her. I was searching for her on Facebook so that I could talk to her. And I found her!"
She displayed her phone to show them Melinda's profile. The pretty girl hadn't changed even one bit from the photo that her lover had shown Priya.
"What can we do about this, Priya?" asked Malini.
"The finals will be held on the evening of the 25th, which is the Saturday of the week after the next week. We could befriend her and bring her here, to reconcile with Chris!"
"She's a medical student. How do we get her here from London?" asked Aparna and Nelson.
"We can do something," said Priya.
Just then, Christopher came out of the water, full soaking wet. "Priya, have you got a towel?" he asked, tossing his hair from side to side. Priya thought that he looked really cute when he did that.
"I have to reunite this cute friend of mine with his cute lover!" she said to herself, and gave him a towel. "Here you go, Chris."
"What were you all discussing about?" he asked sitting down with them.
Priya silently shushed her friends. "We were talking about the finals. I think we should perform 'From Now On' from The Greatest Showman, and you are going to play the part of Hugh Jackman!"
"Me, and Hugh Jackman? You must be joking," said Christopher. "He's an absolute legend. I can in no way match him!"
"You can!" said Roshan. "You even look like him," added Savitri and Devi.
"We're with you, Chris," said Priya. "You can rock!"
"Okay, I'll try," he said.
"You must! What's waited till tomorrow starts tonight!"
