I like him

I was woken up hours later by the sound of the text I received.
It was Ethan asking me if I wan't to grab some coffee or lunch with him.
I answered that lunch would be perfect cause I haven't eaten yet.

He picked me up and took me to some little restaurant he suggested since I'm not from Rome so I didn't know any good place. As we were heading there Lia called me to say she came safe to the hotel and that she can't wait to tell me about that guy she met. But I know she just wanted to brag about having good sex with a stranger.

Me and Ethan had a pleasant drive to the restaurant. Ethan at first glance can seem shy, but when you meet him, he can't stop talking. But at no point did I think he was boring, that was actually pretty sweet how relaxed he felt with me. It was immediately more comfortable for me as well.

When we arrived I noticed a beautiful tiny restaurant, with a lovely terrace overlooking the flower garden. We found a table with a beautiful view.

"Do you like it here?" He asked me hoping I would answer positively.

"I already adore this place, how do you know about this? It seems to me like a rather unpopular restaurant that only a few know about." I asked.

"So then I guess I'm among the few. to tell you the truth, I lived near this restaurant when I was a kid. I often came here with my mother. After her death, I didn't come here that often anymore, but I like to come sometimes when I want to get away from the others." He answered truthfully. I was shocked to hear about that.

"I am so sorry about your mother. You don't have to tell me about it if you don't want to."

"It's alright, really, it was many years ago. She had cancer and it was hard for me back then, but I got over it."

"Enough about me and my life. The only thing I know about you is how people love your style, you have a lot of followers and you have a youtube channel." He changed the topic.

"So you already know a lot, other things in my life are not that important to me." I answered truthfully.

"Come on, I don't believe it, I bet there are all sorts of interesting things about you behind it all. The things I know about you are only external." He sounded very interested and curious so I decided to give him what he wanted.

"Well, what do you wan't to know about me?"

"I don't know... For example, how did you meet Delia?"

"We know each other from highschool. We honestly didn't like each other. We were like enemies, but once we ended up in a school project together, we figured we had a lot in common. So yeaa from then I am stuck with her.."

At that point our conversation was only going for the better. We learned a lot about each other. And I admitted to myself that one part of me really likes Ethan.

"Can I record something for youtube? To show them a little about this beautiful place. If you want I can introduce you to my fans." I asked him pleadingly

"I'm not a fan of cameras, but if you really want to." He said unsure

"It won't be long." I assured him

I started filming by pointing around the garden and after that I introduced Ethan as a friend I met my first night in Rome. After finishing my short shooting session, I came up with an idea.

"Ethan, honestly if you want I can briefly introduce your band as well. Maybe some people would be interested in learning more about you guys. I think a little advertising would come in handy, don't you think? Of course only if everyone would be okay with it." I asked him with good intentions.

"You really don't have to, I don't want to ask anything from you and I hope you understand that." He said with low voice.

"I understand and I trust you but really, this is something I want to do without asking for anything in return."

"And maybe I could help you. I'm in Rome for two weeks and I don't think I'll have anything smart to do anyway. I believe my fans would like it." I told him with visible excitement on my face.

"Alright, I can ask others later and let you know. By the way, I wanted to invite you to a rehearsal today if you want to come and listen to our music. But if you don't want to, I underst..."

"I'd love to come, can I bring Lia too?" I cut him off.

"Of course you can. If you don't have anything to do now, I could show you around Rome a bit."

"Okaay, you lead. Be my guide." I told him jokingly

After our argument over who pays for lunch, we set off for a walk in the city. In fact he was leading, I was just following him. I felt great with him, for a long time I didn't feel as normal as when i was with him. I felt like I just found everything I was missing at that point in my life.
