Disclaimer: I do not own the PJO series or the YJ series! All rights go to Rick Riordan and DC. Also I have not read PJO in a hot minute so some of the scenes may be off, sorry in advance if it bothers you! Please note that since Astraea is around people who are older than her most of the time she does not sound like a regular ten year old child does! Her thoughts and words are that of 14-15 year old in my opinion. Happy reading!

Third person POV

Artemis was lonely. Yes, she had her huntresses and she had her brother (who she loved very much even though she'd never admit it) and she even had her half-sister Diana and the Amazons of Themyscira, but she felt that there was a hole in her heart. She saw the way the other gods and goddesses interacted with their children (even though they weren't supposed to) and she listened to the way her twin spoke about his own children. He spoke of them as if they had hung the stars in the sky. It was then she realized what that hole in her heart was missing, children. She had sworn to be a maiden goddess so having a natural (well as natural as it would be for a goddess) born child was out of the question. She then recalled the story that her sister Diana had told her about her own birth. Diana shared the fact that she had been sculpted from clay by Zeus and her mother had breathed life into her. If Zeus had done it for Queen Hippolyta, maybe he would do it for her. It was then she knew what she had to do. She teleported herself to Olympus (after informing her lieutenant Zoe of her being in charge while she was gone) and strode into the throne room where she spotted her father. He was sitting on his throne and looked to be having a conversation with himself, as he was muttering under his breath. Something about Hera and her peacocks. "Father", Artemis spoke. "Artemis," he said "why are you on Olympus and not with your huntresses riding off into the sunset with your hair flowing into the wind?" She grimaced and had to shove down the urge to roll her eyes at him. "Father, I have something to ask of you" She spoke. "Get on with it then, I have a meeting with the marriage counselor Hera insists on going to at three" He sounds irritated, she thought. I hope that doesn't affect his decision on the matter. "Father I have been having this feeling of a hole in my heart for some time now and I have finally figured out what would fill it." Artemis spoke calmly, "I wish for a child. A beautiful baby girl who can fill my days with laughter and the love of a mother and her child." Zeus looked shocked by her statement and paused before answering her. "Artemis, you are a maiden goddess. Having children was not something that was, for lack of a better word, allowed with the oath you took." "I know any natural born demigod children are out of the question but I have an idea," she said, "I have met my sister Diana and she has told me of her own birth. Of how she was sculpted from clay and had life breathed into her. Father, I wish for you to allow me to do the same" Zeus looked like he was going to say no, but then looked at Artemis. Her silver eyes were filled with silent pleas and a small flicker of hope. He sighed before finally speaking. " Fine, you can make your child. but be warned. She will be born with a great deal of gifts and on her tenth birthday the twelve olympian gods will bless her." Atremis smiled and spoke before leaving. "Thank you father." There was a flash of light and then she was gone.

Astraea's POV

We had just arrived at a cliffside where some demigods were fighting this manticore. It was cold and I shivered as I used my wings to try and shield myself from the wind. A dark haired boy and girl fought the manticore while another pair of demigods stood off to the side. One was a girl wearing a green hat and the other was a boy who was holding what looked like playing cards. The boy looked to be about my age while the girl looked to be about the same age as the two dark haired demigods fighting the monster. Someone tapped me on the shoulder and I turned to see Zoe, mom's lieutenant. She signaled me to be quiet and then readied her bow. All at once the huntresses fired their bows, and arrows came in a wave towards the manticore. He stumbled back and hit something, and a blonde girl came shimmering into existence. The manticore grabbed the girl and then tumbled down off the cliff. The dark haired boy called her name and so did the girl as both the blonde girl and the manticore fell into the icy waters below. The dark haired girl then got angry. She yelled at Zoe, saying things like "we didn't need help" and "this is all your fault". I noticed that the dark haired boy was on his knees at the edge of the cliff. He was just sitting there staring at the water below the cliff, like her was hoping that the blonde girl would suddenly reappear. I then looked over to the other two demigods who were standing off to the side. The older girl was standing slightly in front of the boy. She looked nervous and slightly afraid. The boy looked excited and he kept trying to get out from behind the girl but she wasn't letting him. I quickly decided to talk to them first. As I made my way over, the boy noticed me and tugged on the girl's jacket sleeve to get her attention. Now that I think about it, they look like siblings. The girl's eyes widened upon seeing me and told the boy something that made him scowl. Finally, I reached them. "Hi, I'm Astraea" I spoke. The girl looked at me warily but the boy was practically bouncing in place. " Hello," the girl said, "I'm Bianca and this is my brother Nico." The boy (who I now knew was Nico) looked at me excitedly before speaking. "Are those real?" He was pointing to my wings. "Yes," I said, " they are real." I spread my wings out fully and then spoke again. "You can touch them if you'd like." He quickly looked towards his sister and when she nodded an ok to him he quickly reached out his hand and began to slowly stroke my right wing. I continued to talk to Nico and Bianca for a while, finding out that the playing cards Nico held earlier were from a game called Mythomagic. I saw the dark haired boy from earlier talking with Zoe and the dark haired girl before they made their way into my mother and I's tent. I quickly excused myself and promised Nico that I would come talk to him more later before heading off towards the tent.
