Sapwhisker glanced at Riverpaw for a moment before turning back to Lilystar.
"So, thanks to the apprentice, you're telling me I have to go to a rogue's camp and help their hurt leader?" Sapwhisker recalled.
Lilystar nodded.
Sapwhisker sighed.
Riverpaw knew the medicine code had a rule that the clan medicine cat must help another cat, even if they're not from that clan.
But is this a similar enough situation? Riverpaw wondered as worry wormed in his belly.
Lilystar nodded grimly.
"Yeah. I don't want to send you out there, but I can't deny a cat who needs help, even if they're rogues." The cream she-cat meowed.
Her tail was lifted high.
Sapwhisker nodded, fear scent coming from her pelt.
"I'll go." She mewed finally, padding towards Riverpaw and flanking him.
"Really?" Kelp wondered with glowing eyes.
Sapwhisker seemingly relaxed.
"Yep. I can't deny a group of cats in trouble." She meowed.
"Wait, Moonshine go with them." Lilystar ordered before any of the cats could start their way back over the marsh territory and into the moorland.
Moonshine's ears perked and his tail twitched as he approached them.
"You want me to be body guard for Sapwhisker?" He wondered, his gray tabby pelt fluffing out.
Lilystar dipped her head in confirmation before turning to Kelp.
"If that's fine with you."
Her mew rumbled with growls as she gazed at the orange-and-brown Tom.
The Orange-brown tom's amber gaze bore into Lilystar's similar, yet darker amber eyes.
Hers were very dark. Like pools of blood.
Kelp nodded. "Of course, sophisticated cat." Kelp meowed with a respectful dip of his head.
Riverpaw never expected Kelp to be this polite towards anyone. Or maybe the orange-brown tom only liked being rude towards Riverpaw.
Either way, Kelp was surely a strange rogue.
Lilystar gaze at him like he was from another world.
"Never mind. Anyways, thank you so much for the help." Kelp purred as his tail twitched.
Lilystar only dipped her head, glaring at Riverpaw and Kelp as they turned tail to leave.
Sapwhisker followed closely behind with her tail dragging.
Moonshine followed with light steps as he ran to catch up to Riverpaw and Kelp.
Kelp was purring smugly.
"That went well." He remarked.
None of the other cats said anything as they continued to walk, but Kelp's meow ensured a growl from both Sapwhisker and Moonshine.
Sapwhisker seemed uneasy, her pelt fluffed up.
Riverpaw couldn't help, but notice her fear-scent as it traveled to his nostrils.
Kelp showed signs of noticing it, but purposefully ignoring it as he strutted around RiverClan territory.
And Moonshine?
