As i like to say, aesthetic attraction is a bitch

but what i did/do to figure it out is just ask myself "How would i feel if i was in a sexual situation with them?" or "Does this feel differently to when i look at a picture of something i like (That has a nice aesthetic hint, hint)?"

Uh, tbh I don't really remember that much, with "asexual" it was a character in a fanfiction i think, and then that term just reappeared all the time and thru memes and fanfiction (mostly) i found out what it means

i mostly just thought "wow, those people are so cool, too bad i'm not one of them..." surprise surprise, sometime in the middle of the night i then went "WAIT A FUCKING MINUTE" and that's that

the "aromantic" came along with the ace community and eventually i just thought "wait, people actually feel romantic attraction?"

Well, that's a personal thing, you gotta decide for yourself

but what i like to do is just... drop hints, small hints, big hints funny ones, serious ones, just hints everywhere and if you're not sure if they know about asexuality and/or aromanticism you can just try to subtly educate them beforehand

maybe you can find a canon character (reyna from heroes of olympus, todd chavez from bojack horseman...) and tell them about it that way too

no, but seriously, it probably depends where you encounter the acephobe

it's probably the best to ignore them, i don't think starting to discuss with them about our right to exist will help

but if they're close to you, you could maybe try to educate them? maybe with a friend or family member who's willing to help you?
