So, i have a really nice recipe for apple pie that i translated from english to german at some point. now, i'm gonna translate it back for you guys so it'll be a bit like that thing you do with google translate but it's a 15 year old german kid instead.

enjoy!

Also this one might be a bit more difficult

So! First you need a Pâte Brisée that, if you have limited time or just don't wanna make it, you can really just buy it.

If not, here a recipe for that:

Ingredients:

• 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 1 teaspoon sugar

• 1 cup (2 sticks) (230g) cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

• ¼ to ½ cup cold water

——

1. Mix together flour, salt and sugar. Then add the butter and mix it (works best with your hands in my experience) until the consistence becomes crumbly. Now sprinkle ¼ cup water over it and mix again so the dough starts holding together. If it's still too dry, add always 1 tbsp more of the water.

2. Cut the dough in half and roll each part out into a disk to a ca. 13-inch (33 cm) round. Wrap each disk in plastic foil and refrigerate them until firm for 1h up to 1 day.

Now for the actual pie!

Ingredients:

• 3 tbsps flour (plus some more)

• 1 tbsp heavy cream

• 1 egg yolk

• 3 pounds (1,4 kg) different sorts of apples, cut into small pieces (idk, just how big u deem fitting for a pie filling ig)

• 2 tbsps lemon juice

• ¼ cup (50g) sugar

• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

• ¼ teaspoon grated nutmeg

• ⅛ teaspoon salt

• 1 tbsp unsalted, cold butter, cut into small pieces

• Sugar to,,, sprinkle on top of it

——

1. Fit one of the,,, dough disks? Into a Pie form so that some of it is still going over the edge of the form and refrigerate it again for about 30 minutes.

2. Preheat the oven to 220°C / 425°F and whisk together the egg yolk and heavy cream.

3. Put together the apples, flour, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a big bowl. (the most delicious thing, try it!) Then put this mixture into the refrigerated dough. On top of it put the pieces of butter. (if your second piece of dough is still... freezing it's best to get it out by now)

4. Next, put the other piece of dough on top of it and fuse together (ig?) the two pieces. Make slits into your dough-lid and then take the egg-cream mixture and brush it all over your pie (it can go inside that's no problem!). Lastly sprinkle sugar on top of the pie. Refrigerate it (again I know) for about 30 min.

5. ✨Transfer✨ your Pie to the lowest rack and let it bake for about 25 minutes until it turns a light brown. Then reduce the heat to 190°C / 375°F and bake it until the crust is golden brown and the fillings bubble, 60 – 75 more minutes.

6. Let it cool completely before serving – oh and you can serve it with (vanilla) ice cream of course!

Enjoy!

(next will be the garlic naan that someone requested! i hope i'll get to it sooner than later)
