It was 3 in the morning when my parents drove up to my house. It’s been five months since I’ve been here. Even through the dark I could still see the porch where I used to spend hours playing with my sister and the old peach tree by the back of the house where I had my tree house and swing. Thinking about those things brought back really good memories, when everything was normal and okay. There were no problems or anything back then. I wish it was still like that. I hadn’t notice my tears falling when my mom called me.
“Honey, Pierce’s tire went flat so we have to wait till he gets it out of the garage. Are you going to stay here and wait or are you coming in?”
I wiped my tears away and said “Yeah I’m going in”.
“Sweetheart is everything okay? Mom asked worriedly.
“I just wish my life was the way it used to be, with no sick fucking bastard involved in it”
“I understand but please don’t use that type of lan-“ I pushed the car door open and went up to the house. I grabbed the front door knob and just stood there. I took a deep breath and went in. As soon as I went in I was greeted with the smell of oatmeal raisin cookies. I breathed in the smell and smiled. Grandma Aggy always knew when I wasn’t having a good day. She’d always make them when I had problems like a bad a breakup or a fight with my sister Taylor. I walked into the kitchen and saw her wearing her usual light pink dress with her fluffy bunny slippers and her ‘Kiss my ass apron’. Yeah grandma aggy is a little crazy and I still have no idea where she got that apron. I laughed and shook my head.
“Basil!! You’re home!” she dropped her spoon and ran to me and hugged me.
I smiled. “Hey grandma, I’m happy to see you”.
She rolled her eyes. “Don’t call me grandma you make me feel old, just call me Aggy or smooth Aggyster”
“What the hell?” I laughed “Where’d you hear that from?”
“Pierce” she said as she walked back to the oven. I rolled my eyes typical Pierce.
“Yo the milk is in the fridge if you want cookies”
“Grandma!!”
“What? Don’t you young people talk like that? And what did I tell you about calling me grandma? Call me Aggy dog, word up!”
I face-palmed myself “You’re such a lame” I muttered.
“What was that sweety?”
I flashed her a smile “Nothing!” I grabbed a bunch of cookies and poured myself a glass of milk. I ran up the stairs. With my awesome ninja skills I didn’t drop anything on the way to Pierce’s room. I opened the door and saw a girl half naked on top of an almost naked Pierce.
“Oh umm eww! Peirce when did you get her in here?!” I said while trying to cover my eyes with my hands with milk and cookies in them.
He looked at his watch. “A few minutes ago”
“When?! You never came through the door”
“There’s something called a window”
I shook my head, wow girls are really desperate. “I’ll see you later”. As soon as I closed the door I heard moaning, my brother is a man whore. I started walking down the hall when I passed my old room. I walked backwards to it and faced the door. It still had the lavender paint on it and a few scratches from when I had anxiety attacks. Pierce had to grab me and pin me down because I’d start screaming, kicking and scratching anything that came close to me. I touched the scratches, man I wish none of that would of happened. I took a deep breath and opened the door. Everything was where I left it the day I left. My mom or Pierce probably brought my stuff up because it was sitting at the end of my bed. I walked in and took a deep breath. I walked to my suitcase and my adidas duffel bag and started unpacking. I took out my blue shorts and my Mickey Mouse t-shirt. I put them on and slipped into bed. Well tomorrow is my first day back at Agerdale Bay High School. Let’s see how it goes. After a few minutes I fell asleep.
