It was my first day of school. 5th grade here we come! I couldn't believe it was my last year of Elementary school, time goes by quick. My family is always a mess when it's the first day of school.
"Okay, Luke and Y/N's lunch is packed. You're buying your own lunch." My mom said to Haley as she was packing our lunches.
"Y/N, Luke, Alex, come on. Let's go" My mom yelled.
"Okay I'm coming." I said brushing my hair. I walked down the stairs and my brother was behind me.
"There he is. Last chance for the summer handshake." My dad said to Luke.
"Dad? Are you forgetting that I'm here?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, hi." My dad said, I just rolled my eyes and got my lunch. Then my brother and my dad did this weird handshake thing that they've been doing all summer. During the handshake my brother stopped.
"Dad.." He said sounding nervous.
"Come on. We're only halfway done." My dad told him.
"I need help. I was supposed to keep a journal all summer. It's due today." My brother explained. I raised my eyebrows.
"We were supposed to write a journal of our summer?" I asked. This is the first time I was hearing about this. I clearly needed to pay more attention in school.
"Wow, first day of school and you two are already behind?" My mom said.
My brother sighed. "I'm dead" I decided to hurry and get my journal out and write random things.
"Alright. Tell me how far you've gotten." My mom said to Luke as she was packing a lunch.
"Okay." Luke said, he got his journal out and flipped a few pages.
"June 21st. Found a stick." Luke read.
"June 22nd. That's it." Luke looked up frowning."That's it?" My mom asked.
"It was a really cool stick." Luke said putting his journal back.
"He's right it looked like a snake." My dad told us as he was eating cereal. I was writing through my notebook trying to remember what we did each day, but I couldn't remember at times so I wrote random things. Then Alex walked in with a big Cello on her back, she was really struggling with that thing.
"Honey, you moving out?" My dad asked jokingly.
"Five more years." Alex said as she was running out of breath.
"A little help here?" She asked us."This is why we suggested the violin." My mom told her.
"A cello is more in demand in university orchestras." She said.
"You know what's not in demand?" Haley asked.
"Oh what?" Alex said in a sassy tone.
"Girls who play in university orchestras." Haley responded back.
"Ha ha ha." Alex fake laughed.
"Here, I'll help you carry it out to the curb." My dad said as he was helping her.
"Phil, put on some pants." My mom told him. I giggled.
"Come on! This covers up more then my bathing suit." He said looking at his shorts.
