It was the night before my parents anniversary. I went into the kitchen to see my Dad. He was looking through something.
"Hey dad! Ooh what's that?" I asked.
"Oh hey Y/N! So tomorrow is me and your mom's anniversary and I got her a view master. You look through here and click buttons so you can see pictures!" My dad explained.
"Very cool! That's a really good gift!" I complimented.
"There's more. I also got her this beautiful bracelet." My dad lifted up the bracelet. It was so pretty.
"That's so awesome! Well I'm gonna go to bed. I hope mom likes it! Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
As I walked upstairs I saw my mom putting pieces of paper into an envelope.
"Hey mom! What's that?" I asked her.
"Oh hey sweetie! This is a gift for your dad. It's coupons for free hugs! Isn't it cute?" My mom asked. My dad got these amazing gifts for her and she's giving him coupons for free hugs?
"Um- Yeah I guess I like it. But don't you think you could've done something more special?" I asked her.
"Well you know your dad, he's impossible to buy for! He doesn't want anything." My mom said. I don't think she knows him well at all. He wants a robot dog, night-vision googles, bug vacuum, G.P.S. watch, Yogurt Maker, and speakers that look like rocks.
"Anyway I'm going to bed. I hope dad likes the gift!" I say. I know he won't like it.
It was the next morning and I was in the kitchen eating breakfast and my older sister Haley walked in.
"So, Mom, there's a party tonight at Andrew Adler's, and everyone's gonna be there." Haley said. I hope I'm like Haley when I'm older. I hope I can go to parties and be popular!
"Ooh that sounds like so much fun but I have plans." My mom said.
"Oh that's hi-larious but I'm talking about me." Haley said.
"That's unusual." Alex said as she was reading her book.
"Honey, you said you're gonna go to your Grandfathers tonight." My mom reminded her. Every year my Grandpa Jay has all the grandkids come over for 'Jays Night' It's really fun!
"See, that's what's so perfect about this. Andrew only lives, like, a couple blocks away from Grandpa's. So I figured that I could go-"
"Sweetie, you made a commitment." My mom interrupted her.
"But I really wanna go. Plus, every time I go over to Grandpa's, Manny just stares at me the entire time." Haley explained.
"Maybe if you wore a bra-" Alex said then my mom got after her.
"Manny does though! It's so creepy. Mom, we go over to Grandpa's house a lot. It's fine if she misses one time. Just let her go to the party." I said.
"See, this is why you're my favorite sibling." Haley said to me. Alex rolled her eyes. Luke didn't even care.
"I can't wait to go to Grandpa's. Family means everything to me." Alex told us.
