8:20 A.M.
Maria approached her three friends with news. She had a strange dream that night and she thought that the dream was a clue from Ingrid. "I have a solution!" She yelled as she ran to them.
"Really? How?" Elena asked.
"I think it was the necklace. I forgot to take it off at night and in return, I got a dream about this redhead with short hair. She was showing me something that happened in the past. Apparently, she was a chosen one, she had these powers that she used to trap someone in Tentville's cave. It was amazing, but when she did that she lost form of her body, so she became a ghost. This necklace was the only thing that didn't turn, so it got charged with her old powers." Maria explained.
"And how does this help us?" Peter asked.
"I am a carrier right?" Maria asked as her three friends nodded, "then my body is designed to carry spirits and be able to generate their power. What if I get possessed by another chosen one who can use their power through me?" Maria suggested.
"Maria, I think Ingrid turned into a ghost because she lost her human form, but I don't think we can call other chosen ones from the grave." Elena pointed out.
"But what if Maria is able to generate chosen one energy through her? Ingrid's energy?" Peter asked.
"Ingrid pops in and out whenever she feels comfortable, what if she pops out?" Elena questioned.
"Why can't we just get an exorcist and solve this issue?" Steve asked.
"I think if that was an option then Patricia would've done that," Elena commented.
"Patricia didn't was to remove her sister, but now her sister is in Maria, it is safe now," Steve replied.
Before they knew it Maria was on the floor and Ingrid took control: "No. No more involved. Three is enough."
"Ingrid?" Elena asked. "Why not?"
"An exorcist can't solve this problem without making a bigger one. I tried showing Maria the answer. She needs to channel me when she is in the mansion. But last time she didn't." Ingrid explained.
"How can she do that when she doesn't even know how to?" Elena asked.
"And how bad could it get with an exorcist?" Peter added.
"Maria is powerful, but she needs to let me in, she is denying me. And adding another involved will put another person in danger. Don't you get it? Involved are people who participate in aiding the chosen ones but they are powerless, they are in danger. The more there are, the harder it is for the chosen one to keep them safe. Yesterday was perfect proof of that. The moment you let go of Maria's hand the three of you were oblivious to what was going on." Ingrid answered.
"So why are we involved?" Elena asked.
"You are my way of communicating with Maria, well actually if fate loves you, it would've been just Peter, but he was stubborn to let go of that necklace, so you had to come in with Steve," Ingrid replied.
"Don't blame me." Peter pouted.
"Peter, I can't promise the necklace will come back to you. You need to learn to let it go." Ingrid spoke.
"That wasn't the plan," Peter responded.
"Peter, try to understand that this is more than a childhood crush, this is life or death. Let's assume you get the necklace, fine, you find the love of your life, okay, you get married, great, but then what if Tentville needed me and that necklace when you get a child? You would have played a role in destroying not only your love, your child, and your friends, but also all of Tentville if not the world. Chosen ones make the biggest sacrifices, Maria is sacrificing her body, you need to sacrifice the necklace. It's your job as a protector. That necklace never belonged to you, you have to understand that." Ingrid explained as Peter frowned.
"It's unfair." He mumbled.
"I never said it was, but please Peter, you need to focus on the future, the past is in the past. So leave it there, if she was your soulmate then she'll reveal herself, but if she wasn't then she will stay hidden in Tentville." Ingrid spoke.
Then Maria regained consciousness and she again saw Peter in pain. "Maria, we have work to do," Elena spoke.
"What kind of work?" Maria asked.
"We need to find a way for you to not resist Ingrid," Steve answered.
"But I am not. I am trying to let her through." Maria replied.
"You are resisting her, that's what she told us," Elena stated.
"Then how do I let her through?" Maria asked.
"Do what you did a few minutes ago," Peter replied.
"I didn't do anything, I was about to yawn and then I imagined my body fall," Maria stated.
"So Ingrid channeled you this time," Steve concluded.
"But whenever she channels you, you always break the channeling by 'waking up'," Peter spoke.
"So now what?" Maria asked.
Before anyone can speak the school bell rang. "Now we go to class, then we'll try to help you channel Ingrid. She's our last hope here." Elena replied.
3:06 P.M.
After school, Maria decided to go and visit Patricia in the hospital. When she entered her room, she saw that Patricia was laying on the bed looking at her. "Hello dear," Patricia spoke in a faint voice.
"Hello. Don't mind me for bothering you, it's just that your sister, Ingrid, is the ghost inside me isn't she?" Maria asked.
"That is true child. You hold the spirit of my sister, and your necklace will allow you both to save the future." Patricia answered.
"But in order to do that, I have to channel her. The problem is, I don't know how." Maria stated.
"With the necklace, you can channel her easier. But you need to channel her while staying in control as well. Ingrid was a powerful chosen one, she had power. Your body can channel that power, but it will lead to disaster if you don't control it. It's like lightning and electricity. Lightning is uncontrolled so it's dangerous, but electricity isn't dangerous because it's controlled." Patricia explained.
"But how can my body handle two spirits in control?" Maria asked.
"You are the carrier, you can carrier multiple spirits at once. You have to share your consciousness with Ingrid." Patricia replied. "Now I think it's time for my nap."
Maria frowned and went out of the room to find her three friends waiting for her. "So?" Peter asked.
"Ingrid and I have to both take control," Maria replied.
"How?" Elena asked.
"Hypnosis?" Steve suggested.
"I was hoping for one of those board games." Maria smiled.
"No!" The three teenagers yelled.
"Oh, why not?" Maria asked.
"We are trying to give you both control, not haunt the living daylights out of us. We are not going to summon a demon." Peter explained.
"Oh fine. Good luck with hypnosis." Maria sighed.
