t e n + 5Nate's POV
I was a tad bit early. Thirty minutes isn't too early right? But I decided to message her anyways.
Nate: Hey, where are you?
Her reply caused my eyes to widen.
Casey: You'd see me if you looked up.
I was surprised, she too had come early. I looked up and my breath hitched. She looked angelic. She wore this cute baby blue dress with a bow and her curly hair was pulled to one side. She wore her cute smile, the one that gets me feeling all gooey inside.
I still couldn't believe she'd agreed to come with me. She was the only person at school who spoke to me. I was extremely socially awkward. Even more so, after the accident.
She walked closer to the table I had booked for us. I stumbled out of my seat and pulled out the chair for her. She smiled and said a small thank you.
"I- I'm so gla-glad you're here Casey" I stammered out truthfully.
"Me too Nate, it's nice actually talking to you without a phone." she said with a light chuckle.
"We talk in the library" I said frowning.
"Nate, the only thing you've ever said is be quiet we're in a silent zone" she said rolling her eyes.
This time I actually laughed, "Oh it's nice to see you rolling your eyes, I always imagine you doing it while we text" I said without stammering.
She laughed at that, and I smiled, because I was the one that made her laugh. I've never been so happy, I could feel joy oozing out of me. And she was the only reason.
We ordered our dinner and continued to talk, I felt more comfortable as time passed. But also, I fell deeper as time passed. Deeper into this maze of weird feelings, feelings I'd never felt before. She was beautiful inside out. No one's ever paid attention to me before. She's the first person I've asked out.
"So tell me something about you that I don't know" I said, getting bolder with every passing minute.
"My favourite person in the world used to be my elder sister" she said in a soft voice.
I frowned, "You said.." she cut me off, "I said I had one younger brother" she completed and I drew my eyebrows together as if asking her to explain.
"My sister, Emily died in a car crash two years ago" she said and continued, "The driver was teenage guy, first they blamed it on slippery roads, but we later found out the guy was intoxicated"
I felt the walls close in on me. I wanted to say something, but all I could do was change the topic.
"So what's your brother like?" I asked.

"Thank you for this, really it was amazing" she said with a bright smile.
"It was my pleasure, Casey. I love spending time with you" I said, with probably my biggest smile ever.
I walked her to her car. "I love the moon, you know" she said. The light amazingly reflecting on her face, making it hard for me to look away.
"Well it is something phenomenal" I replied, my gaze not leaving her face. She turned to look at me and I looked towards the moon, not wanting to be caught staring.
Suddenly her lips pressed softly on my cheek, leaving me gaping in shock and before I knew it she was in her car. I noticed a faint blush on her cheeks and my cheeks were probably the brightest shade of red. She waved goodbye and I stared after her car still in shock. I was both happy and scared.
