Ever since Val has been back, I'll be honest, I've been too busy trying to help Luciano with the business. I never really paid her any attention, I never really talked to her.

I see the way she is with our younger siblings, the way her eyes light up when they enter the room, or the way she gets so engrossed when they're talking.

I don't think I'll ever have that bond with her, it's not like she's ever tried to approach me. I've just been sitting back and observing quietly, keeping my feelings to myself.

Whenever I'm in Luc's office with him and Vince we'll sit around and drink a few glasses of Whiskey, they'll always manage to bring her up in conversation.

I just sit there listening and enduring their opinions. I can tell Luciano loves her so much, he was the second closest to her when we were younger. Vince always worries about her, sticking to his 'motherly' role.

Me? I don't even know how I feel about her or this situation. All I know is ever since she has been back there has been nothing but trouble and drama, how'd our lives get so fucking complicated?

After a very intense dinner, everyone left to go do their own thing, leaving me still sitting here at the table. Sifting through my inner thoughts, trying to come up with a way to get our lives back to normal.

A small figure comes into view from the corners of my eye, but I pay no attention to it though and continue to glare at the table.

"Want to go for a walk?" A voice suggests, startling me. I seek the person responsible for interrupting my thoughts to find Val standing behind the counter pouring a glass of milk.

Fuck she's weird, who drinks milk on its own?

"Nah, I'm good —" she cuts me off, "yeah we're going for a walk Nic, we haven't talked since I've been back," she shrugs.

Oh. So she's noticed as well.

I glare at her and scoff under my breath, who does she think she is ordering me around. I don't want to spend time with her, she has all the others to do that.

Maybe I'm just jealous?

Why would I be jealous?

I feel a cold hand touch mine, I was automatically tense from the touch. I'm not one for physical touch, I don't know why but I prefer not to be touched unless I initiate it first.

Peering up at Val, she has a serious expression on her face looking down at me, then her lips start to curl up into a breathtaking smile. A scowl overtakes my face, I'm confused why is she smiling at me like that?

Something in my hand tickles and I look down to see I've absentmindedly grabbed a hold of her hand intertwining them together.

How the fuck?
