All of the boys moved on from the funeral situation. Akaashi did bring it up a couple of times, but Kenma rejected the idea every time, so they gave up. Eventually, the anniversary passed by, and everything went back to normal for the boys.

This night, in particular, had been good, and like most other nights they were with each other. They cuddled on the couch, watching tv as they ate their dinner. Akaashi and Bokuto got in a small water fight while cleaning the dishes, Kuroo dragged Kenma to bed. Everything went by like a normal night.

Akaashi was asleep, but the sound of rustling could be heard, waking him up from his sleep. At first, he attempted to ignore the rustling. The noise was constant. Finally, he decided to see what was causing all the racket. Akaashi sat up, rubbing the last bits of sleep from his eyes.

When he turned, his heart dropped to see what was making the sound. Kenma was sat near their shared closet, curled into a ball crying to himself. Akaashi shot out of bed and rushed over to the crying boy. He dropped to his knees next to his vulnerable lover. "Hey, what's wrong?" Akaashi quietly whispered to the other.

Kenma shook his head and curled in on himself further. The tears continued, and Akaashi could do nothing about it other than quietly comfort Kenma the best he could. Akaashi slowly rubbed Kenmas back as he let the tears flow out. Years ago, this was how Akaashi comfort Kenma whenever he was having a hard time. It has been a while since Akaashi woke up to Kenma crying though. They both sat there waiting until Kenma was able to calm down.

The next to wake up was Kuroo and after Bokuto. They both got up and equally tried to comfort the crying boy. No matter what they tried, Kenma continued crying until he ultimately tired himself out. Bokuto placed him back in bed, kissing him to the cheek before walking out to the living room so the three of them could talk.

"Um. What the fuck happened?" Kuroo asked.

Akaashi shook his head and shrugged. "I just woke up to him already crying."

"Well, something had to have happened." The three sat and brainstormed what could have occurred, but they had no solid solution. They mentioned the funeral, but Kenma had seemed completely fine after that happened. So while it wasn't completely off the table, they weren't confident in saying that was the cause. After talking a little while longer, they all went back to sleep and agreed to just keep the others posted if something were to happen again.

When the next morning rolled around, that was when the next odd thing happened. Kenma, someone who prefers to sleep until noon, was out of bed and out of the house before 7:30. Most days Kuroo, and Akaashi had to take turns trying to convince the boy to even consider leaving the bed. Today though, he apparently decided to get up all on his own.

Akaashi walked around the whole apartment. He wanted to confirm that they hadn't just missed Kenmas presence, but sure enough, he was gone. Their confirmation came with a small note taped to the front door that Kenma had written claiming he was going on ahead. Akaashi sat and frowned at the letter. What was going on?

Akaashi brought the letter out for the other two boys to read. It stumped them just as much as Akaashi.

"So what should we do?" Kuroo inquired.

"Just wait for him to come to us is all we can do." Bokuto chimed in.

They all slumped back in their seats as Bokuto placed their breakfast down on the kitchen table. It was a quick breakfast with minor talking involved. After they all finished their meal and Akaashi cleaned the dishes. They made their way down to the gallery where they were assuming Kenma would be.

However, when they walked into the back rooms, they couldn't find Kenma anywhere. Both the studio and the office were empty. They sat in the break room, and Kuroo sat and prepared coffee for him and Akaashi. None of them knew what to say. Their boyfriend was off somewhere, and none of them knew where.

A small creak echoed through the door, and every boy's head turned towards the door with a dying hope that it was their two-toned boyfriend. Unfortunately, though a tall, short-haired blond made his way into the room. Questioning all the disappointed looks he received as he walked inside.

"Uh am I interrupting?" Tsukishima asked the group.

Akaashi sighed and thunked his head onto the table as Bokuto crossed his arms with a pout on his face.

"No, we just thought maybe you were Kenma," Kuroo answered and began pouring the coffee into their mugs.

"Oh, did something happen?"

Kuroo contemplated what he should say, not wanting to expose all of Kenma's personal information. "He left early this morning, and we just wanted to make sure he was alright."

Tsukishima hummed in response as he walked over to pour himself a cup of fresh coffee. "I saw him go to the second floor a while ago. He hasn't come back down since." With that said, the blonde took his mug and exited the room.

What in the world could Kenma be doing on the second floor?

Akaashis head snapped up, and the other two put their attention on him. Akaashi quietly whispered, "the door."
