chapter 1

kim minju is popular in their school for her insane visuals. anyone would fall for her. kim chaewon is has the biggest crush on her. it all started when they became classmates in 7th grade. ever since then, chaewon couldn't get her eyes off her. it's been 4 years, minju still has chaewon's heart.

minju leaves the classroom, some of the students from other sections immediately running to her for her to sign their yearbook. her classmates are used to being with her, so they don't care about her popularity. thus, she's in the star section. beauty and brain, you can say. all students in that class are too focused in their studies.

a shy-looking guy was able to approach her first, "minju, can you sign my yearbook? i wanted you to be the first one to..." he stops when someone wraps an arm around minju's shoulder before dragging her away from the group of people.

"why is everybody insisting you to sign their yearbook? it's not even close to summer," chanwoo says, removing his arm from his cousin's shoulder when they reached a quiet area. minju just shrugs.

it's partially true, it's 3 months before summer, not that far but not too close. signing the yearbook is just one of their excuses to get closer to minju.

"i see, you're just popular among the students here." minju looks at chanwoo, raising a brow, "like you aren't."

"i didn't say i'm not."

he is pretty famous too. not in his school, since there also many beautiful faces found in the school he's going. but he is known in the city, many girls would ask him to take a picture with them, even boys and elderlies.

you can't blame them, they are gorgeous. maybe it runs in their blood.

chanwoo scans minju's face, "off today?" minju shakes her head. "no, my head just hurts a little. i think it's from watching a long video about a penguin giving birth that our adviser projected earlier," she says, massaging her temples.

"well, i don't think food will cure your headache but i'm hungry so let's eat out. my treat."

chanwoo's family is wealthy, his parents own a large company. his and minju's parents aren't close due to personal problems, but the two are inseperable since childhood.

chaewon takes one cookie from a pink container before putting the lid back on and puts the red ribbon back as she takes a bite.

she waves her palm up and down slowly, chewing the cookie with eyes closed. she is dramatically devouring it. she opens her eyes and shakes her head, "so delicious. minju is so lucky a person like me exists."

there's no day chaewon would leave minju without receiving anything from her. she considers every single thing she gives minju a gift or a blessing. well, she wants her to know that she's always there for her especially if she's having a tough time. that even if she's not beside her, she has her.

after talking with herself for a while, she brushes her fingers on her skirt and grabs the container and tries to pick a pair of earphones when someone reached it first. she looks at the guy beside her who is raising both brows at her. "that's mine?" she says, completely confused by his actions.

the boy chuckles, "you're not sure." chaewon just watches him plug the earphones on his phone. he glances at her, raising his eyebrows for the second time, he asks, "what?" chaewon gives him an annoyed face until she realized what he's looking at. she turns her attention to herself, noticing she's wearing her own earphones. "oh."

the boy shakes his head in disbelief before walking away. left at the corner, chaewon slaps her cheek lightly.

she is kind of stupid but their earphones are the same. same brand, same model, and same color. also, there isn't music playing in her earphones, which sounds dumb.

she shakes her head, trying to forget what just happened and convinces herself that he will forget it in time. she starts making her way outside the campus, walking to her next destination.

short hair, bangs reaching her eyebrows, small steps, hands holding the straps of the backpack. it's funny and cute at the same time. the fact that she looks like dora the explorer.

after many minutes, she steps at the porch she planned to go and trills her lips of nervousness before pressing the doorbell.

"hi... i made cookies for you."
