This one shot is inspired by Phantom of the Opera's "All I ask of You." It's my favorite love song from a beautiful musical. I recommend listening to the song first and then reading this story. Thank you!

You rounded the corner, breathing heavily. The titans were right behind you, and you were clean out of blades and gas. There was no hope for you now.

That's what you thought until you saw a single, pale arm reaching out to you from a doorway. The arm was connected to the strongest man alive, your captain, Levi Ackerman.

His eyes begged you to trek the three meters of open space between you. You knew as soon as you reached his arms you would be safe.

You ran to him.

He caught you in his arms and held you tight, practically carrying you into the building. You were alone, not another soldier in sight. They were probably all dead, anyway. Rocks from the tremors were falling all around, and you could hear the groans and feel the footsteps of titans surrounding you. They'd sniff you out soon enough. You shook in Levi's embrace.

"Stop crying, brat, I've got you. I'm here, they're not going to hurt you."

He continued to whisper those sweet comforts into your ear.

"You don't have to fight, I'll do it for you."

You turned your head to him, meeting those eyes so full of care. He didn't know it yet, but you had fallen for those eyes long ago. And if you learned anything from the expedition you were just on, there was no time like the present to be honest.

Little did you know, the captain himself was harboring the same feelings you had. He had yet to gather the courage to tell you, but he barely needed to with the way he was taking care of you. His actions spoke louder than words.

You spoke, your voice as quiet as ever.

"Say you love me, Levi... speak to me like nothing else matters in this world. Talk to me about the summertime, so we can forget everything that's happening outside." You placed a hand on his. "Promise me that everything you say is true. That is all I ask of you."

His breath hitched at your words, but he remained holding you. He just couldn't believe you beat him to the confession.

With a shaky voice, he continued. "Let me be your shelter, (Y/N). I can defeat any of your fears that follow you. You're safe with me."

Despite his words in confidence, the falling debris around you told you otherwise. You sighed and looked down.

"All I want is freedom... a world with no more titans... And you, always beside me, to hold me like you are now... Is that too much to ask?"

He placed his hand on your cheek, forcing you to look back at him. "Then tell me you'll share a life with me, if you'll let me save you from this hell. Tell me you need me beside you anywhere you go. (Y/N), that's all I ask of you."

You gave him a tearful smile. "Say the word and I'll follow you, Captain."

He held you a little closer to his chest. "Share every day and night with me, until the end of time."

Your lips were mere centimeters apart.

"Say you love me..." You whispered.

"You know I do."

Then, his lips were on yours. They were soft, and reassuring, and strong. All of the things you needed him to be for you in this moment. He was no doubt nervous and clumsy, but he put all of his effort into this one act of true love. It was perfect.

You pulled away, your eyes meeting once again.

"Love me..." You said.

He responded with a tiny, pure smile.

"That's all I ask of you."
