Three days away from Y/n's birthday.
Y/n's POV
I awoke in the night, instantly feeling warmth around my tiny body. What really happened? Our village wasn't this warm before. Where was I?
I looked around the surroundings only to see arms around me. Mom? No, it's a warmth I hadn't felt before. Mama? Or maybe both? I had never felt both of their arms around me before so maybe it is. I snuggled into the arms wanting to feel the warmth more.

Sasha's POV
Hugging the kid tighter to me made me feel some sort of comfort. Like I was a kid again and being held in my parents arms. It was the middle of the night when I felt my arms move telling me she woke up.
But as soon as she woke up, she fell back asleep. The kid sure did enjoy sleeping. I assumed it was around 5am due to the noise of people scrambling to get ready for training. I let go of the kid, god I needed to name her or learn her name soon, and got up, quickly trying to get my uniform on.
It took a few minutes but I finally got it on, running out of the room to get something to eat. I was starving.
I sat down at the table with my friends and we ate and talked. The rest of the day was used for training, hand-to-hand combat, dinner, and the whole time, me trying to come up with a name or at least a nickname.
Nothing came to me for the whole day.

Two days away from Y/n's birthday
The next day was mostly the same as the last. The only thing different today was me playing with the little girl, bathing her, feeding her, and trying to get her to walk towards me and the others.
Playing with her was fun. Drawing on paper, me tickling her, me doing her hair in weird styles. She actually started giggling at times, which to be honest was adorable as hell.
In the bath I was able to clean out the dried blood in her hair and clean off some dirt that was on her. She had a couple scratches from the fall towards the ground but would get better sooner or later.
Lunch was fun you could say.. We were able to feed her soup and bread at the very least. Well, not really we. More like me. When Connie or the other tried, she spat out her food and gave everyone a hard time. Whenever it was me she was much calmer. Sometimes she refused but in the end she ate it.
We all wanted her to walk or at least crawl towards us. So to get her use to everyone, we sat in a circle around her and waited for her to crawl over to us. Surprisingly she didn't choose me the first time. She sat there, looking around at everyone before stopping her gaze on one person.
She crawled toward him, and to say, I was surprised. Armin picked her up in his arms, sitting her on his lap with a smile on his lips as she stared up at him. Armin sat her back in the middle to see who she would choose next.
Her next action wasn't much as a surprise to others, me included, because she seemed to be always around me. Crawling towards me, she put her arms up as to say to sit her on my lap, to which I did.
She cuddled into my chest as I wrapped my arms around her, smiling as my eyes closed for a brief minute.
"Momma.." The girl mumbled as her eyes were closing slightly. That was the day I learned what she saw me as. It was adorable if I was being honest.

One day away from Y/n's birthday
Today was much more different. Here I was holding the girl in my arms as she cried and cried. We were going on a mission that could take a few days until we got back. We were going to get more titans killed for us to get the land back.
She apparently didn't want me to go as her grip tighten, her crying never stopping. Commander Erwin wanted Captain Levi's squad and other squads to go out on this mission. Section Commander Hange's squad was told to stay behind to watch some cadets who weren't requested to go.
Section Commander had to pry the child away from me as we had to go. She thrashed around in their arms, her face turning bright pink from the screaming. As we got on our horses, I looked backed as we headed away. I saw she stopped thrashing in the Section Commanders arms as she just cried as we headed away.

Y/n's birthday
Moblit's POV
Section Commander Hange wanted me to take care of the girl as they didn't want her around their lab since it had all kind of acids in it. They often joined me in trying to play with the girl. She seemed drained today, which I had assumed was because of her crying from Sasha being gone.
Around her bedtime, I had left the girl in Sasha's bed, hoping she would sleep to get rid of her tiredness. It seemed to work since she slept for hours. I went back to Section Commander Hange to help them with their lab stuff and to remind them about sleeping and eating.

Sasha's POV
We had retreated back to the walls and rode back to HQ. I was excited to see the kid as it's been a few days since I had last seen her. I had a smile on the whole way. But it soon faded as I saw the Section Commander and their assistant beside them, both had a worried look on their faces.
What happened while we were away? Many thoughts erupted my mind as I got off my horse, not seeing the kid around either of the people. The worse thoughts came into my mind. That she somehow got hurt and was in pain for days. That she died from something no one had been able to save her from.
I had never felt this terrified since forever..
