The sixth Love Crystal in this one chapter.
After the River of Souls, Larry wondered why such strange events were unfolding.
Despite this, they walked on.
Act 5, Part 4: Battle of the Beast
"This seems to be the right way," said Celine. "I can feel the Love Crystal's presence at a much stronger frequency from here."
"That's good." Larry nodded.
A hideous pulsing mass then appeared, an amorphous thing of gray lumpy human flesh...misshapen limbs clawed blindly at the air, and a half-dozen mouths opened to let out a horrendous screeching sound.
A tentacle reached out to grab Larry, but Alicia ran up in front of him, and so was grabbed instead. She was reeled backwards into a gaping central maw that opened on top of the creature, a vast and lopsided perversion of a human mouth, surrounded by three bulging black eyes and filled with jagged plates of bone instead of teeth.
Larry cried as his first friend was devoured. There was no chewing, but instead swallowing.
*GULP*
"No!" said Larry.
Alicia was gone forever.
Or so he thought.
Suddenly, a sword pierced through the horrid creature's stomach, causing guts to pour out.
Then a gash was cut.
Eventually, Alicia emerged. She was holding a bloody star.
Larry gave her a hanky, and she wiped off the blood, revealing an indigo gem shaped like a star.
The creature had collapsed. It was dead.
A door opened, and the heroes walked back to the lab.
