SKY
"Oh my God. What a surprise!" Tristan pulls back a bit only to hug me again. "You're here!"
"Yay!" I want to kiss him so badly.
"This is like the best surprise ever!"
And before I know it, he kisses me fiercely and he wraps his whole body around mine. I have not seen this coming.
"Tristan!" I gasp. "What about keeping things between the two of us right now?" I jerk my head towards... nothing, because the crowd of curious onlookers I always expected to form as soon as I did something gay in Seaford is nowhere to be found.
"Yeah... no", he grins. "I'm not doing that."
                              "But... you said..."
"I know what I said. But I realized that I'm just doing the same old shit again. Holding back. And I won't do that to you. No way. If you're ok with it." His smile is broad and goofy.
"I'm ready when you're ready. I'm halfway out of the closet anyways. I just lingered because of you."
And I actually can't wait to come out completely. I want to. I don't want to hide my feelings for him and steal me kisses behind drawn curtains.
"I'm not planning on just coming out. I'm planning on embracing it. As in public kissing and handholding and groping maybe, if you're up to it," he winks at me. "It's all or nothing."
                              "Okay", I chuckle.
"Just... I wanna tell the guys tonight and until then..." He shoots me an apologetic glance.
"Yeah", I force myself to give him some space. "So... what are your plans for the rest of the day? Aside from coming out?"
My stuff is already stacked away at home and I think it might be a good idea to stay away from Mum until she's calmed down, so at least for another few hours. All in all, I'm free to do whatever we want.
"Umm, I wanted to go home and have a quick shower and some dinner and then meet up with the guys at East Coast. Now that you're here though, wrecking my plans... I guess we'll have to negotiate. But I'll settle for a quick shower, having dinner, a little bit of canoodling if there's time and then meeting up with the guys."
"You are so much work." I roll my eyes. "Let's go then."
My board is still sitting underneath the bench, and as much as I don't want to let go of him I still tear myself away to get it.
"Uhhh, new trucks?" Tristan snags the board from my hands and eyes it from every angle before he sets it down and fails to flip into railstand. "I don't know how you manage with those heavy trucks you always use."
"It's a Matter of skill," I shrug, although from my opinion truck weight doesn't matter at all. That's just in his head.
I place my hand on the small of his back and push him along the esplanade; standing on my board he's a bit taller than me.
"So? How did your exams go?"
"Umm," I look up and down the esplanade to play out time and gesture towards a bench a few yards ahead of us. I'm so excited that it makes my skin crawl. "Can we sit maybe?"
"Sure." Tristan draws his eyebrows together but follows me and I wait to continue until he's sitting down next to me.
"Eh, so," I start. "I didn't take my exams. I lied. To you. And I didn't have a college thing today."
"Urgh, Sky", Tristan huffs exasperatedly, but holds his tongue.
                              "I met up with John."
                              "Who's John?" Tristan asks.
