Verdict 23:The Storm

"Bad news captain they already passed the decision"

"What decision?"the innocent eyes of Kamzan questioned officer Max.He had no idea of what decision that officer Max was talking about.Nico entered Kamzan's office while catching his breath.Kamzan looked at him full of wonder"what's wrong officer Nico?" Kamzan's two questions to two people.He sensed something was not right,something was out of hand

"new evidence arrived"Officer Nico started

"yeah that's what I am going to tell you captain,the video about Shiko admitting and confirming that Yerein is his wife was being sent this morning to the evidence desk"Kamzan didn't produce any words,or he couldn't think straight at the moment.He was confident that Yerein was not a wife of anyone.

This fabrication of her identity was something that he couldn't afford to continue. If all their evidences were ready now he would immediately passed it to the higher court.

But he couldn't rush it,the burden of proof was still not enough. They needed to gather more evidence to make sure that they would win without doubts.

"the worst is, the video is disgusting, he described all the details of her body,that's not a work of a good Muslim" Officer Nico was not a Muslim but he knew that a good Muslim would not do those kind of filthy and awful act.

"That's his wife he should resp--"Max's words were being cut-off by the loud bang.

Kamzan made a sound for the first time on their conversation.He slammed the table very hard.And looked at Max with fury

" Yerein is not his wife and will never be his wife"he got out from his office and walked to the room where all the higher officials watching the video.Upon opening the door he immediately heard how Shiko described his wife and their illegal love story.He immediately turned off the tv screen.

"What the hell kamzan?"one of the highest officials reacted.

"You are all too old for the scandalous video my superiors"Kamzan smiled and looked at all the higher officials inside the room"the show is over,may I request everyone to go back to their respective posts? after all it's inappropriate to watch and hear the married couple's sexual status"

everyone exited the office,they respected Kamzan even though he was very young.He always threw words that could burn, and he was also one of the higher officials because of his life and death achievements.They were all got out only his superior who remained rooted on his seat

"they already gave the verdict,one week from now she will be hanged to death"

"I will not allow that"Kamzan answered in a balanced voice,only the long table separated him from his superior.

"don't put dirt on your badge,stop protecting the terrorist"his superior walked to him and whispered those words

"she is not a terrorist,I will prove that to you"he was sure,the description of Yerein's body in the video was wrong,she had no tattoos,she had a petite body,she...he couldn't continue anymore,but he saw his body once when she saved the child.He held it and he saw it and as much as he wanted to forget it because it was a sin, it was like a word that engraved to the stone of his brain.

A memory that he wanted but didn't want to erase at the same time and he knew that he sinned on this part.But maybe if he had forgotten those delicate details he couldn't tell that the video was fabricated.But nonetheless he still went overboard,he still needed to give sincere repentance.

Aside from asking forgiveness to his Creator,his next worry now was how he would deliver this message to Yerein

How would he tell Yerein that her days were already numbered?

How would he save Yerein from injustice?

How would he fight Yerein's fate?

Kamzan might be calmed while maintaining eye contact with his superior while his superior was clueless about the storm raging in his mind

The superior had no idea that the captain had created many questions in his mind that he didn't know how to answer.

Captain Kamzan realized that it was hard to live in a place where you didn't know the system and the law. With just a blink of an eye you could be convicted. And even though you would shout to the world that you were innocent,the world would just ignore you because they were busy believing what was in front of them.
