Shadedkit had just scampered out of the den with that scary she-cat in it. His eyes were wide in fear as he frantically searched for any chance of an escape route. His own predators were practically flooded in this camp. They were everywhere. Were they watching him? Surely they were, right? The baby squirrel's paranoid thoughts were creeping up on him. He looked to be frozen in fear, almost half-expecting a cat to jump out and pounce on him.

Shadedkit was so sure this was a dream; this couldn't be possible! The last he saw his mother, she was stiff on the ground, her throat coated in a red substance. He was scared, not only that he didn't know entirely what happened to Bella, but the fact that he was surrounded by many threats that could endanger his life. Being just a child, he didn't know what else to do in this situation except go with his objective; to get out!

His lip curled and he surveyed his surroundings, skittering and wobbling towards a large oak tree. Perhaps this could ensure his safety, and even better yet, help him get out of here. Shadedkit had the right to not trust anyone in this area, for they only saw him as a piece of prey.

From what he knew, this was a Clan of cats called ShadowClan. He was confused to why he was able to understand the cat tongue and literally speak it as soon as he was taken in. The squirrel kit stayed underneath the safety of the tree. His senses were very much heightened, his tail flicking anxiously. He was waiting for his cue to climb up when nobody was looking. He realized much too late when three cats, who were apprentices of this Clan unbeknownst to him, had approached the new squirrel clan-mate.

He had the urge to scamper up the tree right then and there, but even he knew that probably wouldn't be possible. Shadedkit observed these cats. The one in the middle was a she-cat with white, wiry fur and a muscular build, and piercing dirty yellow eyes. She wore a grin on her face. The two toms on both of her sides were a bit smaller than her, and one was a dark gray while the other was a slightly lighter gray color. They were both a bit scrawny. The dark-gray tom had indigo eyes, while the lighter gray one had turquoise eyes and darker gray specks coating his body. Shadedkit gulped quietly as the white she-cat opened her mouth to speak.

The she-cat paused, letting a scoff out. She looked to the younger apprentices from right and left, before turning her ill-mannered attention back to Shadedkit.

"Hey.. crowfood," She ended with a giggle, they definitely weren't here to take him seriously. "Say, 'I'm a mutt'." She then clamped her mouth shut, as if she was about to laugh. The dark gray tom wore a shit-eating grin at that, and the light gray tom squinted at the baby squirrel.

Shadedkit gulped, feeling his entire body tremble with apprehension. He kept his eyes glued on their faces, doing the occasional glance to their paws, expecting a set of claws to come out.

"You're a mutt." Shadedkit sputtered innocently, a chitter interrupting his sentence. It was clear that he had a bad cat accent to these cats who were practically fluent in their own language.

The white she's maw gaped open in surprise, eyes wide like the moon. Her brows furrowed. "WHAT?!" She boomed, her shout ringing out but not seeming to alarm any of the other cats. However, the younger apprentices by her side were hollering in laughter.

Shadedkit's fur spiked up at the loud shouting and laughing, backing up, his rump hitting the base of the tree gently. Being in a quiet, shocked state, his body had stiffened. He began to deafen out the white cat trying to get him to say cruel things about himself in cat-speak. In the corner of his eye, he caught the look of a purple eye gleaming mischievously at him. He leaned to look over the young white cat's shoulder.

A set of two purple eyes were gleaming from the shade of another tree in camp. He couldn't quite make out the colors of the creature those royal purple eyes belonged to, but they must have been huge. This... wolf, from what he could make out the creature to be, was staring at him with a sort of unique expression. There was a grin plastered on her face, but she smoothened it to a softer yet smug expression. It completely faltered though when she had seen Shadedkit completely frozen in shock.
