So I, personally, have not played any Pokemon game............................ I don't think Pokemon GO counts anyways. But I, as a person who has not played pokemon, know way to much lore about it. Watched a lot of Lockstin & Gnoggin videos.
So I started designing a fakemon because why not. It has yet to have a name because....... naming is hard.

It is an electric water dual type, that is based of a garter snake. I kind of want its name to have Dart in it because puns. It's highest stat will be speed, because baby garters do a dart. I want it to be a starter, but I don't know how to do type things and make it balanced soooooooooooo help?
My trying to draw the final evolution (haven't even tried to draw the middle one yet) and getting stuck because I want it to be more than a fast snek.

The scar on it's boopable nose was not intentional, but will stay forever, either as a stipe or an actual scar.
It evolves from a speedy and happy snek, to a still speedy but cooler (personality wise) snek.
Time for me to ramble about this region that I may create or something, because why not. It will be based off of New England, because I live there, and why not. The starters will be based off of native animals around here, a deer I think (grass), garter snake (water), and I have no clue what to do for fire, but with a added type, because why not. I don't know how to balance stuff at all though................... Nor do I know any of the moves..................... Oh well.
The dual evolution normal that is generally on Route 1 will be based off a squirrel. And the triple evolution flying/normal will be based off a american robin.
LIST OF IDEAS BECAUSE WHY NOT:
- Poison/Grass based off of Rageweed (Ragweed, I have an allergy AND IT'S THE WORST)
- Ooh a firefly one sounds nice
- Opossum, yes I know one already exists (I think?)
- GROUNDHOG
- Hare, maybe pre-evolution for the groundhog?
- SALAMANDERS
- Turkeys (we have a flock that lives in our neighborhood)
- Skunk Cabbage
- Dark/Grass Crabapple, because it sounds funny
- CRANBERRIES
- An invasive pokemon based of the bittersweet vine?
- HORSES, Because there is a horse riding center near where I live.

Evil Organization - Want to use native pokemon to do a thing, also just placed a bunch of bittersweet vine pokemons
You + your rival and stuff - An organization that is really about saving native animals, and this is why your starter are semi rare pokemon in the region, due to a breeding effort by your mentors/teachers.
