Blaire Kallig:-"Chief Rieekan? The recruitment center was overrun with Imperials." Blaire reported to the figure on the holocom.
-"No sign of Agent Galen, but we've just freed some refugees." Estherre added.
-"Not refugees— heroes. These people put their lives on the line for victory over the Empire." One of the 'refugees' spoke.
Blaire and Estherre turned their attention to him as he came forward.
-"Name's Vell Narroc. Been recruiting volunteers for the powerguard project since it started." He continued.
-"So, these people asked to become test subjects?" Blaire asked, skeptical.
-"The Empire stole their homeworlds. They jumped at the chance for payback." Vell explained, "Over the years, hundreds of people volunteered for the powerguard experiments. Heroes, all of them."
-"How many power guards are there?" Estherre questioned.
-"That's way above my security level— but I've heard they're amazing. Even stronger than a Jedi. I don't know if the Empire found us, but they control the whole experiment now."
Blaire's heart sank to her stomach. She knew all too well how the Empire worked. They didn't care that people would suffer as long as they got their way.
-"Could you tell us where the power guard experiments take place?" Blaire asked.
-"Never seen the main lab, but it's some place in the Red Lights Sector. Imperials are sending people there for 'testing'."
For the first time in her life, Blaire thought she was going to be sick. She had killed countless people, seen countless die in more gruesome ways than she could put into words, but something about this made her stomach churn. Luckily, Chief Rieekan spoke again, pulling her from her thoughts.
-"That's one of the busiest places on Nar Shadaa. We'll never find the lab."
-"I've heard it's the only building with a dedicated reactor, does that help?" Vell offered.
-"Absolutely. Jedi, contact me when you reach the Red Lights Sector. I'll have a plan. Rieekan out." And with that, the chief hung up.
-"I'll get these volunteers to safety. I hope you kill every last one of those Imperials." Vell said.
That was, to be very fair, Blaire's full intention.
