"Wh-What...?" He widened his eyes in despair on her question. Tzuyu bit her lips. "I'm sorry if that was too insensitive of me..." She bowed as she didn't maintain eye contact further. She sighed as she apologised again.
"N-No!" He panicked. "I don't mind you asking!" He held her hands reassuringly. Jungkook sighed as he sat beside her. "I really wanted to tell you this." He exhaled. He gulped the lump on his throat, as his chest felt heavy.
"I won't force you to tell me everything." She rested her chin on her hand. "If you're uncomfortable, don't tell me anything." She patted his head. Weird, Jungkook was in awe, she really was the prettiest person he ever laid his eyes upon.
"No. I want to tell you." He added. Jungkook pinched the nose of his bridge to stop himself from crying.
We met around 6 months ago..." He was anxious about walking down the memory lane with her. "We met through a dating app. And after a few weeks, we decided to meet up. And she really is very pretty.." He stopped, as he looked at her.
Not as pretty as you
"She was the closest to my type..." He stopped again. He stopped for a few seconds. "But I guess, I got too ahead of myself. She told me that we were going too fast and it's too sudden." He fidgeted on his finger. "During those early fiance days, she's been telling me that, but my stupid ass didn't listen to her." He inhaled a huge amount of oxygen. "Until, she just snapped at me. She wasn't ready at all..." Jungkook's mood dropped.
While Jungkook was dropping all his emotions out. Tzuyu was holding back her laughter. She knows laughing at a time like this would be considered insensitive. But the way his face looks right now was so funny to her. She just smiled as she looked at him adoringly.
"And then, she told me she wanted to cancel the wedding. I was so sad." He continued letting his feelings out. "And at that time, I met you Tzuyu ssi" He smiled at her. Tzuyu smiled as she was trying to hold back her laughter, he didn't realise that he was already crying and snot was coming out of his nose.
Jungkook immediately noticed it after feeling the warmth of his tears flowing down. He immediately grabbed a tissue from the tissue box, as he wiped his tears away. He blew his nose for the snot to come. Tzuyu giggled on the sight of this, Jungkook widened his eyes in surprise. Although her giggle was cute, he furrowed his brows.
"Are you insulting me?" He inhaled to hold back the snot, Tzuyu looked at him and smiled innocently. "No. You're actually cute." She looked at him as she tapped his cheeks. He doesn't know why he felt like this. It felt like butterflies suddenly came in his stomach, his heart started beating fast(around 127 BPM).
"Wh-What?!" He raised his voice, as he suddenly stood up in surprise on what she said. "Do you not like compliments?" She asked him. He lightly shaked his head, he sat a chair apart from her. "No.. I like compliments..." He coughed in his fist as he looked around, completely ignoring her eyes.
"That was just unexpected." He smiled as he composed himself from his bad posture. She just smiled reassuringly. "Your story was sad... No one deserves to be treated like that." Tzuyu immediately changed the topic without him knowing. He nodded in agreement, as he felt himself crying again. "I really thought that first love is the greatest." He sighed, he cringed at his past self, for believing those foolish stories that were only found in novel and fiction movies.
"Well, do you still like her?" Tzuyu dropped the question bomb that even himself was too afraid to ask. He thought about it. His Ex really gave him some happy memories, the ups and downs they both struggled together. Like the scaredy cat he is. He didn't bother to answer it.
"Wow! Look at the time! It's already 10:00 in the morning, I still have some stuff to do!" Jungkook completely ignored the question as he instantly stood up. He took off the apron that he wore, folded it, and laid it on the table. "Don't worry boss! I'll return tomorrow for my official shift!" He smiled as he waved goodbye. He hurriedly walked outside the cafe. Before officially leaving, he looked at the window one last time. What he saw was just her, not moving an inch. As if she was frozen in time, as if she was dumbfounded. He felt incredibly bad, for just leaving her there. But at the same time, he didn't absolutely want to answer that stupid question. Jungkook got into his car and drove away.
The stoplight turned red, and those words kept repeating in his head.
"You're actually cute"
"What the fuck..." He whispered to himself as he gave himself a mental slap.
NO! JEON JUNGKOOK! SHE'S NO ONE! SHE'S JUST A STRANGER YOU JUST MET
"A pretty stranger." He was arguing with his conscience. His mood was like the yin and yang, he just told his past to a stranger, and that stranger called him cute. "Wait... Why am I calling her a stranger... We're friends." He groaned in disappointment. He was acting like they just met a few weeks ago...
We really did meet just a few weeks ago....
"Oh shut up!" He argued once more with his conscience. He feels like a crazy person after that conversation. It upsets him that he still remembers those painful memories. He's the type of person to ignore the memories rather than facing them.
But at the same time, my chest feels a lot less heavier now.
Jungkook bit his lips from refraining himself from smiling too widely while driving. Once again, he had to remind himself that their relationship is platonic. Nothing else, he turned around the block as he was excited for his work shift tomorrow.
