"Well, can I work here?" When he asked her, Tzuyu froze. "W-What?" She was taken aback. She can clearly see in his eyes that he wasn't joking, not a single drop of satire and humor. Tzuyu can't exactly deny his offer. She bit her tongue as he continued to stare at her.
"Well... I don't have enough money for your salary." She looked down. The truth is that she knows this cafe is slowly going bankrupt. Jungkook lifted her head up and smiled at her.
"Silly! It's okay. I don't mind if don't you pay me." He assured her, he obviously noticed that she was uncomfortable with that topic. She softly smiled at him.
"Free labour?" She jokingly asked. Jungkook agreed as he nodded, she widened her eyes on his reply. "Yeah. I can keep with that..." He softly laughed as he rested his chin on his hand.
"As long as I can spend some time with you. I don't mind even if I'm in hell." He added.
She looked at him, and once again, not a single drop of satire and humor showed in his face, he was clearly genuine. Tzuyu held her smile back, but from Jungkook's perspective, she looked like she was cringing. He frowned as he sighed. He felt like he failed once again.
"That was cute..." She whispered to herself, but he clearly heard it. His frown instantly turned upside down, he held his chest high as he felt like he had accomplished something big.
Even though some say this type of feeling is just a simple human emotion. He felt like that was all there ever was. Those simple moments when he made her smile, and laugh. Those simple feelings may be all he had. This memory will be with him until time ends.
"Can I start my shift now?" He mischievously winked at her. She rolled her eyes, as she grabbed his hands as they both went backdoor in the Kitchen, He looked around and saw it was perfectly clean. "Let me give you a tour." She said to him, they first started at the back kitchen. All complete kitchen tools and sets. It could easily be mistaken for a professional kitchen, with professional chefs working.
"Wow.. You really completed them." Jungkook stared in awe at the flawlessly stainless silver tops. "Complete what?" She asked him as she let him roam around the kitchen. "The sets and tools..." He murmured, loud enough for him to hear her. Tzuyu just raised both of her shoulders. "It's a gift from Sana unnie.." She answered him. He just nodded.
They both moved to the back storage room. Undoubtedly it's still clean. Possibly cleaner than the kitchen. He looked around, there were ingredients, they looked so fresh too. Jungkook squatted down and saw a sack of coffee beans, boxes of tea, refrigerated milks, and water. "Wow..." He was still in awe of how amazing this cafe was.
"If you're in awe of how clean it is. Blame the cleanliness of Jeongyeon unnie.." She leaned on the doorway as she stared at him looking around, like a lost child in a fantasy world. She yawned.
After Jungkook was done with the tour, they both sat at the table, and Tzuyu gave him a brown apron. "Ayyeee!!" He smiled as he wore it. He looked at himself in the mirror and turned around. It showed an 'X' pattern on his back. "Does this mean...?" He raised an eyebrow to her. "Mean what?" She replied.
"I'm like an official worker here now?" He asked her. Tzuyu nodded, gesturing that he was a worker now. He smiled as he hopped around being happy and excited. "This is my first time working!!" He yelled out in joy. Tzuyu froze on that statement.
"F-First time?" She squinted her eyes. "Yeah.." He replied to her. She gasped. "THAT MEANS YOU DON'T HAVE AN EXPERIENCE?!" She accidentally raised her voice. Jungkook's smile turned upside down, he was like a puppy getting yelled at. She sighed and was obviously disappointed. "Like literally? No experience?" She asked him. He nodded. "What am I gonna do with you?" She sighed as she stood up.
Jungkook followed her trail and they stopped at the bar area, where she mostly resides since she's the barista.
"I was thinking of making you a barista with me..." She sat on one of the stools as she sighed and thought about something. "If you have no experience... Then have an easy job." She whispered to herself. She was thinking hard. Jungkook just stood there with absolutely no idea what to do. "WAIT! YOU WERE THINKING OF US WORKING TOGETHER AS A BARISTA?" He exclaimed, she nodded.
"Since you don't have any experience, you'll be washing the dishes." She looked at him blankly. Jungkook doesn't mind washing the dishes, but washing the dishes isn't his main goal. "Then that would mean, we won't be together?" He twiddled his fingers. "Yes." She answered blankly.
"I don't want you messing up. I'm sorry..." She immediately added. Jungkook pouted as she was clearly right. He couldn't argue with her. As his plan crumbled, in front of him. He was dramatically looking hopeless in front of her. "WAIT!" He suddenly positioned himself to fix his posture. "HOW ABOUT YOU TEACH ME SOMETHING?" He excitedly smiled at her. "Uhh... Do you have time?" She asked him.
"For you. Yes. I do" He smiled and playfully winked at her. She scoffed and rolled her eyes. She went inside the counter area, as Jungkook followed her. "Do you know how to use this?" She asked as she pointed at the stainless machine in the middle. "An Espresso Machine?" He replied, but not so sure. She nodded. "Correct."
"How about this one?" She pointed at another stainless machine. Next to the Espresso Machine.
"I've seen it, but I don't know..." He bit his lower lip.
"This is a Moka Pot." She patted the pot.
Jungkook nodded as he sat on the stool, Tzuyu brought the other stuff that needed introduction.
Soon after, she placed a figure, it was made of glass. "Guess what this is..." She asked him. Jungkook was confused, but just from the look of it, from the look of it, it has a net-type, and a handle.
"Like a presser?" He took a confident guess. "Yes. This is called a French Press." She revealed the answer. Jungkook's mouth formed an 'O' and nodded.
"Since you already know that's a Moka Pot." Tzuyu said to him, she grabbed another one. But this one was a little complex. It looks like an Erlenmeyer Flask. It has a coffee filter on the top forming an upside down triangle.
"OH! I KNOW THAT!!" He said excitedly, she looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "That's a pour-over coffee pot right?!" He remained calm, and Tzuyu smiled. "Correct!" She placed it on the side, and grabbed another one.
This one however has a tube-like design. She placed it in front of him. This is his first time seeing something like this.
"Aeropress." Tzuyu said blankly. "To save some time, this one is a turkish pot" She grabbed another one and it was like a small pot with a long handle.
The whole thing ended, when they were done. Tzuyu was still teaching him about those different types of things, and his head hurts. "We're still not done, Jeon" She glared at him, Jungkook was groaning in pain. "I already know the basics..." He complained. "Can I just work with you as a barista?" He asked her.
Tzuyu sighed as she went silent for a few seconds. "Why do you want to work with me so bad?" She asked as she raised an eyebrow at him. Jungkook sighed. "That doesn't matter! We're friends!" He smiled.
"Is that so..." Tzuyu hummed. "Then you can just help me with stuff." She added. Jungkook immediately nodded as he thought that idea was good and great. Jungkook smiled, he didn't know why, but he was excited.
"GREAT! WHEN CAN I START?!" He said too excitedly. He noticed that Tzuyu was keeping their distance, and she felt uncomfortable.
Did I do something wrong?
He stayed silent and bit his lower lips. "Hey.. Uhh... Can I ask you something? This question is a bit sensitive." She asked him. Jungkook immediately looked at her in confusion. "Ask away" He replied to her.
"Why are you clinging onto me when you already have a wife?" She asked him. And there it was, again, he got reminded again. He froze to her question. As his heart broke into many pieces again, a million shards.
